Getting booted way too easy in big team

It seems that in the past week I’m getting booted for betraying teammates way too often and it’s never my fault. For instance, I was flying a falcon with two gunners and we were blown up with a laser from the other team. It said I betrayed both of them (it’s happened more than once). Similar things have been happening to my friends. I feel like the booting system is suddenly hyper sensitive. Anyone else having this issue?

It has always been like that.

The booting system works a bit like karma.

The more you betray, the less chance the option will pop up for you to kick someone when betrayed.

The best answer I can give you is that the betrayal/boot system is highly flawed. Hopefully it’ll be fixed for Halo 4, but if you go in with a full team which doesn’t betray each other you can avoid the issue altogether.

As always people who can play with a sense of honor are welcome to apply to my clan, yourself included TC.

I thought it was 2 betrayals and whoever you betray a 3rd time gets the option to boot you.
I play BTB a vast majority over other game types and I cant even remember the last time I was booted. Im not sure if Ive ever even been booted at all.

Heres some advice if someone is trolling you for taking a weapon or vehicle they wanted just ignore them and try to get them in a position where the enemy takes care of them for you.
And if someone takes the weapon or vehicle you want dont betray just keep an eye on them and learn the spawn times and mechanics for the particular map and game type, and be ready for when they die and drop it to pick it up or be by its spawn spot.

When someone betrays me for a weapon I never kill them. Instead I follow them the rest of the game tapping them with bullets so they can’t snipe (usually the weapon they steal from me). This frustrates them to no end so they betray me again where I get to boot them or they ragequit.

I love it, sweet revenge.

Im…
Actually going to use this.

Yup, I do this occasionally, works a treat, and you usually find once they quit that the team gets on just fine.

yeah I had 20 plus kills and then I ran over an idiot who got in the way of my ghost

Unfortunately Bungie never felt like putting the effort into an effective betrayal booting system. It works fine for small matches because it’s almost impossible to get a betrayal without trying (if the person is damaged at all by an enemy it doesn’t count as a betrayal) and because you get so few betrayals the boot option never comes up. In big team on the other hand with power weapons and vehicles accidental betrayals are common and the system complete junk. It encourages a lot of people to just use a DMR instead of vehicles that get you booted.

There are also some glitches that can prevent you from being booted. One of my friends had over 10 betrayals in a game and the boot option didn’t come up, yet I was booted the first time I betrayed him.

Glad I’m not the only one. Today is another example of a flawed booting system. (I could post new examples daily if I was so inclined) I get betrayed straight up. There was no “whoops” or “what?!” about it. My teammate blew my face off. I received no option to boot… I wouldn’t anyway because I like a full team, plus if they are trying to quit the game I will not give them the satisfaction of doing it for them… anyway, later in this game I betray unintentionally. I fired a rocket long distance at a Warthog and destroyed it. As my rocket flies through the air my teammate runs up to the warthog to beat down the driver and I get booted. Why was he allowed to boot me for unintentional betrayal but I am unable to boot him for very intentional betrayal. Think about that 343. Think about it.

Also the -Yoink!- who drives around in a Warthog or Mongoose asking for people to get on then drives off a cliff the moment someone does. I have had this happen to me several times and I never get the option to boot them.

your own fault for betraying people, if someone takes something you want then use your brains and annoy them for the whole game instead of betraying

See, there’s your problem: vehicles. When it comes to betrayals there always a vehicle involved. This is why I try to stay away from users in a Warthog or Ghost, for example. Unless, I’m trying to blow it up.

Sorry but you couldn’t be more wrong. It’s the complete opposite. Karma never been the one to play ‘fair’.

yeah the betrayal system is FUBAR, I was in a ghost and “hit light speed” right into our sniper…booted like just wow

I didn’t know this is how it worked!
