I’ve been grinding Arena matches for roughly a week now. Been hopping around Plat 1-4. K/D is 0.9 as of now. My win percent is 50%.
So, I used to tear it up in H3, Reach, and H4 (under various gamertags). I wasn’t competitive, but I was pretty good. I won most of my games, and always had positive K/D.
In H5 it’s a toss up. I’ve had games where I just absolutely dominated with 20+ kills and less than 5 deaths in team slayer, and others where I’ve just had my -Yoink- handed to me 17+ deaths and maybe a few kills.
So, any general advice for H5? I definitely have the most experience with Reach. I’d just like to consistently have positive K/D. Thanks!
I’m in the same boat. Was usually btw. 1.4 and 1.6 in halo 3 and reach. 4 was still positive but not as good. I think 5 still requires some map knowledge
Adapting to a game style that focuses more on map control and positioning is key in H5, which is why it’s so useful to have a team.

I try man, but hardly anybody uses a mic and i don’t have a lotta friends T_T
Ya, it can be a struggle. If you are always riding solo in matchmaking, i’d suggest finding someone to party up with. It always helps having a team mate that you know has your back. Also, anytime i get a couple deaths in a row i focus on staying alive and working together with the rest of my squad. It gets easy to go off on your own, especially when you can sprint everywhere.

Well I was kind of being a hypocrite, because I don’t play with friends either. But even without a team it’s still possible to hold down certain parts of the map, especially with power weapons.
This Halo is still a Halo. Getting to high ground, jumping around corners, aiming at the center to the top of the head is money. Trick people into running underneath you for a Batman. Crouching is still quite effective. Know the correct amount of time between AR -> Melee Kill and Melee -> AR Kill. There is a difference, finding that balance in all guns, Melee is crucial.
Winning 50% of your matches is a good thing. It means you are appropriately ranked.

Yeah it’s helpful to see it that way. At the same time though I’d like to rank up
As far as finding friends or a team, I think that’s what the aim of Spartan Companies is.
