Getting banned after finishing a game?

So this morning I played doubles for my 1st game. Teammate quit and I didn’t want to stay around and get killed 20 times, so I quit aswell. 2nd game was a social snipers match. We won and after the match ended a banhammer strikes message popped up and said I was banned for 9 hours. This happened yesterday aswell, same situation, got banned for 7 hours after finishing a match. I can’t even play the game, so dumb. 343, please fix this broken ban system. Let me play Halo 5!

This is the ban thread. Ban related stuff goes here. It takes the system a short period to catch up and implement your ban. Don’t quit you won’t get banned.

The system is not broken, it simply takes a few minutes to go into effect. For instance, when you quit in doubles triggered the ban hammer but since it takes a few minutes to activate, you were able to go in to team snipers. While in the match, the ban became active and once you finished the match you would then be unable to enter any other matches until the ban is over. Looking at your past few games, I can see why it struck. (but to be fair, I quit as well in team doubles when my teammate quits).

Yea I was looking at my game history and I usually quit about once a day, mainly in doubles because of quitting teammates. I just think that it’s kinda dumb that I get banned after my 1st game of the day. Maybe for like 30 min or an hour, but 9 hours is just too much.

Every DNF counts towards your ban. You had to be banned several times to get to nine hours. Stop quitting and you won’t get banned. If you want to continue discussing the issue you should take it to the thread I linked.

My bad. I just don’t like getting 2v1d by tryhards who shoot my dead body and -Yoink!- the whole time. All I’m doing is dying and wasting the other teams time.

If you quit, you’re gonna get banned. It’s not a great system, but my only suggestion would be to try and play with a friend.

I heard the ban hammer is one match behind. If you are guilty enough to be banned, you will be banned after you play one additional successful match! By successful I mean a match you started without issues.
