I’ve owned Halo 5 for a while, but haven’t played much until lately. I’m Spartan rank 13, and have not gitt n a single price of armor, weapon skin, assassination, stance, visor color or helmet. I buy the silver and gold req pack, and basically only get reqs for warzone which I don’t play. I know I’ll get them eventually, but it seems like it’s been a while without anything. Is this normal?

Extremely man, sr13 is basically 0.11% complete on the ranking scale, of which you still unlock things into the late sr100+… I can’t remember it has been so long, but I’d say you won’t start unlocking armor until sr20’s, it’s up to chance, the more packs you get with req points, the more the unlock.

Right in sir, good luck! If you do featured gametypes, the ones with stars near them, you get double XP, thus getting your Rank up faster

Yeah you haven’t even scratched the surface of the pack grind at Sr13… The best thing to do is open nothing but silver packs first. There is silver level stuff in gold packs so if silver items are still in your req pool you more likely get silver level stuff at a gold price. The silver packs will refund two 1500 point req cards instead of unlocks once you have everything at the silver level (the gold’s refund two 3000 point cards once you have everything). You have a long way to do at this point. But yes the req system is pretty lame as it’s all random on what you get as unlocks. It’s best not to try and concentrate on particular items and just go for unlocking everything.

All you can do is use all the RP boost cards you can for more req points. But most now a days are more concerned about getting xp than rp. There is some some small “token of appreciation” in Infinite for those who get to SR152. (They have said it’s nothing grand, not even armor). But to hit 152 by the the time Infinite drops you would have to get like a million XP every week.

I have no goal of doing that, maybe something like a quarter of the way to max rank and I’ll be fine, I just want to have decent progress in Halo 5 but nothing to time consuming. Thanks for the tips.

In any case, if RP is the goal, then BTB and the Warzone playlists tend to pay out the most per game, owing to the fact that they run longer than the average arena game. Otherwise, I’d just play normally (i.e. the games you like) and not really concern yourself with how much you’re earning per game.

Update, I got a helmet at late rank 15. Not that any of you care but I thought I would update.
Yes it is my friend. I know how frustrating it is. My armor the one I’m wearing now I wanted it so much and it was the last items I unlocked. It was a nightmare. Personally I recommend buying only silver REQ at the beginning for unlock everything from common to rare. Once done start buying Gold REQ Packs for get Ultrarare, Legendary and Mythic REQ cards and don’t get something common for 10.009 REQ Points.
The key is the patience.
its a shame that the game doesn’t offer some sort of separate commendation awards for unlocking armour’s, helmets & weapon skins etc
like if a small amount of each custom set had some sort of goal to reach to unlock those few select customised pieces and an easy way to find out how far away you are to reaching that mark to unlock “it”. (such as pressing X or RB which then displays something like ‘27/200 kills with DMR’) could be something to either introduce into: Guardians asap, MCC if it gets added after infinite or just make it a feature in infinite??
I’m aware that the current commendations give you big amounts of XP when reaching 100% but I want something else to get me hyped for B2B arena warfare for 3 hours.
the REQ packs are sort of fun but as someone with a bit of OCD I find it annoying that I have this bank full of req’s that I don’t use at all. apart from the frequent RP & XP boosts that are essential for unlock progress regarding customization.
