Getting Annoyed with all the hate from halo 4

All the hate for halo 4 is getting so annoying when their are plenty of other things besides infinity settings. My last game was on haven legendary slayer br im a csr 32 in the playlist going for the 50 and let me tell you that gametype made team slayer so much better and more competitive.

Legendary slayer br is basically no personal ordnance, no personal loadouts, no AAs br only starts weapons spawn in the same spots on maps.

Even team slayer isnt that bad its infinity with no personal ordance which makes it a lot less random.

I mean look at we have a much bigger playlist variety than launch that arent all infinity settings.

  1. Team snipers (even got a new update that kept it fresh and it made fun)

  2. Team doubles (it added legendary slayer br and still has a pro gametype in it.)

  3. Team throwdown (my favorite playlist in halo 4 its a 4v4 competitive playlist with non of the crap infinity has at all) gameplay for throwdown here ITS NOT V4 BUT ITS A REVIEW From a competitive player that owns beyond.net http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9rP06MF01Fw

  4. Grifball (we got that back its amazing)

  5. Rumble pit (finally got a real ffa that wasnt there on launch day)

  6. TEAM ACTION SACK (SOME OF THE FUNNEST GAMETYPES HALO AS EVER SEEN TRY IT)

  7. RICOCHET (Grifball with weapons it plays real well and with some tweaking it could work well in ghostayame’s v5 settings

So ya people the game is a lot better now than launch there is much more variety to play that isnt infinity settings. If your a competitive player new to halo i suggest download forge island and play team throwdown.

And even though ranks arent in game i still go for csr 50s it still gives me something to play for and have fun. I persoanlly dont like infinity settings either but this has made me start playing halo 4 a lot.

I like Halo 4, but I agree with some people that it isn’t perfect, Loadouts are cool, but the Plasma Pistol, Boltshot, Plasma Grenades, Jet Pack, Promethean and Vision are just broken to spawn with

Personal Ordnance is just -Yoink!-, at least they released Team Slayer to remedy it

They removed descope

I’d rather it’d be more constructive criticism though

I will say the game has gotten better since release. However, the bigger issues still exist:

Lack of Custom gametypes

Lost of some core features in Forge

Vehicle Combat reduced to almost all heavy vehicles just to survive enemy players using PP/PG combos

Loadouts giving players too much power on spawn.

I can give credit to 343 for getting their act together by updating the game and fixing core gameplay issues, the list mentioned above ends up being a persistent reason as to why people believe Halo 4 could be a lot better than what we got now.

Unfortunately, it’s too late. The vast majority of the population–those who liked the gameplay of the original trilogy–have already left. There isn’t enough of them remaining to warrant any further changes to the game, since there wouldn’t be enough people around to enjoy them.

If 343i implemented some of these changes at least in the first few months of release like they should have, the game wouldn’t be in its current state.

I agree that Halo 4 is a good game. The only problem is that it isn’t as fun as Halo Reach. Halo Reach lasted longer because it was more entertaining. Infection is far better than flood in my opinion. 343 are trying something new though so people shouldn’t hate. Halo 4 is their first real Halo game anyway so they actually did very good. There could be many things that make the game better but I still think that it is a fun game to play. They did good with the story line by trying to explain who the forerunners are to people who haven’t read the books. Overall Halo 4 is a good game and doesn’t deserve all the hate it’s getting.

I agree the game is a lot better than when it first came out. That said, it’s too little too late. Halo’s already lost its momentum and there’s hardly anyone left to play with.

I’d quit a couple weeks after H4 came out. The biggest 2 factors of why I quit then and why I’m back playing now are:

  1. The maps (Pitfall and forge maps)
  2. Weapon buff update

I can’t say I’m a fan of any of the original maps that came with the game. Most of the maps I enjoy playing on now are actually forge maps. I really hope H5 launches with good maps, hopefully at least 4 that are “smaller” cleaner maps. It’s disappointing that I have to wait a year after launch for decent maps that get me playing.

I play basically daily and love it. Mainly play CTF, Ricochet or Big Team. My only 3 complaints are this:

Ranking system
Personal ordinance
The BR (as of now)

The br is 4 shot and hitscan whats wrong with it just like halo 2

The number one thing I loath in Halo 4 are the flag mechanics in CTF.

I cannot understand the reason for not allowing a player to drop the flag. Giving the carrier a magnum was bad enough, but now you’re punished if you accidentally walk over the flag (and you cannot drop it go use rockets, snipers, or grenades that you might have had when you moved too close).

I mean…even the new oddball has a means to rid yourself of the ball if you so choose, but in CTF you are saddled with the flag until you deliver it or die.

i think halo 4 is amazing, so what if it changed i think change is good i mean every thing changes after awile. look a halo 3 and then halo reach that defenitly changed and people liked it but when halo 4 came i think changed in a great way.

i think some people just over react, i have a friend who does not like halo 4 cause he “cant be an a elite” i mean serously i wish people will just go with the change cause change can be good and 343 indistries are a new company its like expecting a rookie become a war hero in one war , thats what i feel right now.

im really sure that 343 will learn from there last game and will make halo 5 a better game than before cause i know bungie did and halo 4 is a fast pacegame cause halo 3 is very slow for me, i dont get exited when i play halo 3.

this is my message and i hope people agree with me and i dont care if they dont or rip on me but long live HALO!!!

The fact that it goes toe to toe with most AR users up close and even shotguns. The BR is a beast. A small RoF nerf is needed (it will still excell in mid-range as intended).

Legendary Br’s and Throwdown still have

  • Sprint
  • Flinch
  • Sub Par maps
  • No in-game ranking system

Remind me how this is halo again?

If you want to be angry at someone for all the hate that Halo 4 is receiving, then be angry at 343.

> i think halo 4 is amazing, so what if it changed i think change is good i mean every thing changes after awile.

Translation: everything changes, therefore all change is good. No such thing as bad change, why? Because everything changes.

Translation: Halo 3 and Halo Reach changed, therefore Halo 4’s changes are good.

> i think some people just over react, i have a friend who does not like halo 4 cause he “cant be an a elite” i mean serously i wish people will just go with the change cause change can be good

Translation: people should accept all change without exception, because some change can be good.

If people don’t complain then nothing will change.

It’s been almost a year now, and the game went from 410,000 players to a weekday average of 16,000 players and a weekend average of 23,000.

Just look at this. Halo 4 isn’t even a year old and Call of Duty games that are 3 years old are more popular than it.

There is no good counter-argument to this.

I agree with you on the ranking system. I think it should require more skill to get more xp. Even if you are bad at the game, you can still get 2000 xp in a war games match easily. Even when I play really well I still can’t get higher than 3000xp because the game restricts you from getting that much from one war games match. People who aren’t as skilled as the game can easily rank up with spartan ops. The thing I dislike the most about it is that you have a number to show your rank, not an emblem like in halo reach and halo 3. Most people say that Halo 3 has the best ranking system and I agree. It requires skill to be promoted. It’s the only Halo that had true skill rank. Luckily now Halo 4 has CSR but you can’t see it in game, only on Waypoint. Even if you are CSR 50 no one will see it unless they look on Waypoint.

I don’t mind the personal ordinance but I think that they will drop it in the next Halo, so in a way that’s good for many people.

I like the BR. Before it felt under powered. Maybe they should have kept it the same but weakened the DMR.

Overall I still think that Halo 4 is a good game.

It’s not the simple fact that Halo 4 had changes. It’s not really even the changes themselves. It’s the way the changes were implemented. They tried too hard to impress us with what they could do. Everything went way overboard.

descope needs to return. I was pumping headshots into a guy earlier and he still managed to get a body scope on me. the poor guy was a fish out of water but still managed to inflict major damage even though I was Yoinking! on him
