Stay near cover. It feel like you die in two shots because you are probably getting shot by 2 people at the same time. I know how that feels because that happens to me sometimes. If I’m fighting someone and I don’t have good cover, ill get shot by the guy im fighting and his teammate from another angle. Always have some sort of cover close by so you don’t have to worry about getting shot from the back or sides. It’s also good to rotate around the edges of the map most of the time. Don’t run in the middle of the map unless you are trying to get a weapon or powerup.

I am trying to play more defensively. Maybe its slightly better but don’t know. Had a game ending with +11, so there is that.
Regarding getting killed fast, I am pretty sure there were not 2 people shooting at me in these cases. For example, there was this guy in front of me, there was no one else around. He jumps, 2 bursts, and I am dead. Like, what?
That game was going so bad that I just quit it. Can’t even bother anymore with those. I am waiting out my 5 minute ban right now.

Maybe if you stopped running around the map with an Assault Rifle in hand and duel-wielding Plasma Rifles you’d get more than a handful of kills. I could get more than four skills a game just from throwing grenades or relying on melees. You’re obviously not playing the game right. You can’t get upset at the game because you’re incompetent. Call this elitist toxicity all you want but really, what are you actually asking for here? If you want a lower skill gap, play a game like Call of Duty where all guns are highly effective in all situations and so even you can get kills.

Impossible to die in two bursts if you’re at full shields. Something else is happening that you’re not noticing.

“It takes an entire magazine to take someone down”, okay so you’ve basically just told everyone that you just run at everyone with an AR or have an awful BR. Time to kill is rather quick if you actually have a functioning pair of hands. Either you have no experience and therefore little credibility or after 15 years of playing, you’re no better than someone that picked up the game yesterday.
I’m more than happy to give you pointers as you’re evidently struggling

Where did I say to make the game easier? I never dual wield or use the AR. Yes, I am incompetent, so what? Never pretended otherwise.

Ok so I played more. And that’s it, I give up and my decision is definitive. My last games were so horrible I wish I could wipe them out from my service record. Last one ended 50/-3, what bs. I can’t believe I suck this bad after 20 years with the franchise. Can do some campaign LASO levels deathless, but a 4v4 match in social is a no-no.
Will stick to campaign and firefight only from now on.

This is partially why I want bots in the game. You’re going to be matched with people better than you with these games and it makes it pretty difficult to improve. Bots might help people at least get part of the way to getting “good” or at least be able to compete and enjoy them

I don’t think it’s just a matter of personal skill but the matchmaking itself as well, it seems I constantly get in games with team mates who can’t bag more than 10 kills a game collectively while the enemy team can get 10-15 per player, matchmaking itself seems to match unevenly more often than not

Instead of giving up on the best game in the collection, you should have watched some high level gameplay. Remember that in h3 mcc you have to lead your shots A LOT MORE than in the original, especially at long range.
I get mad too sometimes when i play on usa servers because the shots are inconsistent but it’s playable

Just played against a team where the 2nd highest score on their team was 6. we lost 50 to 11 and one guy had 38 kills.

9/10 times the game puts me in East US servers and basically I am playing with 110 ping. Wonder how much does that affect things, but whatever.

It’s because they’re putting you into matches against a bunch of old heads who never dropped the game like myself (sorry in advance), but it isn’t your fault it’s their SBMM.
The system is FLAWED. It doesn’t match hidden 30’s with 30’s, 10’s with 10’s, etc. it will try to reach a medium of 25 for every match. So when two of us join at 47-49, we’ll be matched with 2-3’s as teammates. Then nobody has fun. We’re expected to carry, you’re expected to get shelled and it’s a bad time all around thanks to garbage matchmaking. Social should be social, luck of the draw.

I get 105-110ms ping as well to the east US servers, i think h3 on usa servers has the worst hit detection of any halo in the mcc, except halo ce which is very unrealiable as well.
Playing on eu servers with 25-40ms ping is much better but you still have to lead your shots by a lot at long range

The SBMM and dead playerbase is mostly to blame for this. Even matches simply do not exist, and if you manage to find one (somehow) you’re guaranteed to not find one again for a long time.
343 simply do not care though. They’re too busy creating medieval armour that just doesn’t fit in with anything else.

Yeah, this. I have not touched multiplayer whatsoever, outside firefight, since my last post here 9 days ago.
I am playing Reach’s campaign instead, on legendary with 6 skulls active. It is genuinely more fun than going through a multiplayer social match.
