So! If you my friends are Canadian, and bought this game through EB Games to play Halo 4 or other Halo games online again with customization, useful leaderboards, and unlocking upgrade systems, and have found that the game you bought does not work for any of those things (which it does not) then do as follows:
Step 1: Get an EB Games edge card! (I’ve had one forever)
Step 2: Exchange it within two days of purchase for any other SEVENTY DOLLAR blockbuster that actually has playable multiplayer without horrible confining playlists that force you to play Halo games you don’t like, while not working at all the other 90% of the time.
I am a DIEHARD Halo fan, and this is the first time in my whole life that I have ever returned a game I purchased. Ever. Maybe they’ll just delete this thread but I want to send a message. Don’t sell me something that doesn’t work at all. Don’t take away what made games good in a remake. Give me the game again, don’t ruin the personalization elements of multiplayer, and for the love of god don’t EVER force me to play game modes I don’t like. I came for Halo 3 and 4, Rumble Pit and Team slayer.
What I got was extremely restricted playlists full of game modes I DO NOT LIKE, almost 100% useless matchmaking, and what could be considered a complete user interface nightmare.
Thanks for letting me post the rant. Hopefully you’re not so lame as to just surpress an honest HUGE Halo fans opinion. I bought all the stupid Legendary editions, this is just a dead on arrival release.
So why are people refunding their games when it IS going to be fixed at some point? If you’re that strapped for cash you probably shouldn’t have bought the game now in the first place. Prioritize.
I hope people don’t start re-selling or returning. I want this game to retain somewhat of a population when it’s fixed.

Sorry to say your not a true halo fan if you are asking for a refund in 3 days the playlists are will be changed including adding more ranked playlists plus you have not even mentioned Halo 2 so i can certainly say you have no idea what a true halo fan is… brainless.

I’m not going to beg him to stay. He is making a post on the forums basically begging for attention. If he wants to return the game do it but these are the support forums and should be used as such.
It doesn’t even make sense to return it if you bought in the first place, lol… I mean if you bought this game you should’ve known exactly what you’re getting. Though these playlists piss me right off somewhat
It’s an opinion guys. I feel like the essence of what I personally liked about the games was taken away or slightly cheapened. I can’t even play -Yoink!- My Spartan anymore (my little pony for men). Just presets.
I’m encouraging consumer voting through spending. There isn’t a way they didn’t know the game would be broken at launch. The 15 Gig day one update is a giveaway. The Halo 4 and 3 are ports aren’t done in house, and if I want to play competitively at ANY single one Halo game I have to play three or four different modes in cycle. Competitive play is highly based on game mode specificity. While I understand WHY the playlists exist this way, I want a filter so I don’t have to play oddball while practicing my team slayer, or I don’t have to play Halo 1 while practicing my Halo 3 team slayer.
Not all games are cherished equally by every player. Don’t ever force them to play a game they don’t want to. Also have servers that work upon release, not a single day later.
you do realize that the game’s been on less than 2 days, right?
most other companies (dice with bf 4, diablo with blizzard) didn’t even address and recognize issues with matchmaking until weeks after launch.
in less than 2 days, 343 has addressed the issues, outlined them, and has provided updates/patches. another patch is just about to go live as well. please think with an open mind.
I’ve had the game 64 hours now, been trying to play for around 56 of those hours and still not even one person found in match making. I’ll be getting a refund too. But, once everything is working again I’ll rush on down and buy a second hand copy.
I don’t think its acceptable to publish incomplete software, or advertise services that simply don’t work. Ironic too that shortly before launch they announce a 15gb day one patch so they “don’t compromise on quality” or some other rubbish. It also seems that more and more devs are getting in on this. Bethesda, EA, the COD games, hell even the latest Pokemon games were released with a massive bug. At what point did it become acceptable for devs to release games at full price, and have their customers become the beta testers? I’m happy to beta test, provided I get to opt in and play the game early or I’m paid to do it (either cash or discount on the game price will do nicely!). But in this scenario, I’ve paid top dollar to have the game straight away and not be able to experience the main feature I wanted. I thought I would do the right thing as a big Halo fan and preorder but this is what I’m slapped in the face with. Meanwhile, in less then a month’s time everything will be fine and the next wave of players will come in buying the game at a discounted rate.
And lets not forget that its not just the cost of the game, its the Xbox Live time that has been lost too. I remember when games came with 1/3 month free trials and the launches were pretty damn good. Now its a failed launch, with a 2 day trial. And the downtime has been longer then that.
One less -Yoink!- to instant kill over and over to inflate my K/D, wouldent have lasted long anyway. Prrly pissed off theres no swords playlist, infection, or griffball.

Not even close to true, Blizzard’s problems were being addressed the night of
