So, I started playing Halo 5 multiplayer, which I enjoyed, in hopes of achieving a high rank; but found myself left alone on the battlefield against four enemy spartans. This threw off my K/D, which “was” going well, very badly and, I fear, my rank that is obtained after 10 matches. I am too competitive to have this happen all the time. I miss the days when people could join into a match, even though I would occasionally be thrown into a loosing teams game. I tend to lose more now from being left solo than I did joining a bad game. If you are abandoned, you should not drop in rank. People can’t help it when this happens. What are your opinions? Has this happened to you? How would you suggest fixing this issue?
Play with a party. This isn’t rocket science. You don’t get into the higher ranks without playing in a team.
Its really annoying that it happens but there is nothing you can do. I felt the same way before I was placed. I got Gold 1 and won 4 or 5 games. Which I assume is pretty good. (Dont know the whole ranking system yet). 343 said that your rank is based ONLY on the outcome of the game. So if you lost and had leavers, then I sure it wont hurt you near as bad. Good Luck!
I feel ya bro. I played with a bud last night in arena and it was basically us 2 vs 4 for like half my matches.
Sadly, we’re going to get (and keep getting) quitters, regardless of the penalties 343i has put in place. I’m hoping that soon enough the majority of quitters will have racked up a long enough ban from matchmaking that they realize it’s not worth it to quit anymore and stick it out, win or lose.
I’d like to see 343i start grouping accounts tagged with poor behavior (TK’ing, quitting, etc…) in matchmaking of their own and force them to deal with one another instead of bothering the rest of us, hah.

Only way to prevent this OP is assemble your own team of 4 players who you know won’t abandon you this is alway the risk you run when playing solo.
^^^This. Similar to how GTA V put players with bad behavior on their own servers.
this is honestly THE biggest issue with halo online EVER! Even the terrible online connection at the launch of halo MCC is nothing compared to this. I HATE it. with a good team, I dominate. by myself against 4 people, not so much. 343i needs to fix this, give 24 hour bans EVERY time but have an exception like “if there are only 2 or less players left on your team, then no ban will be given.” because this CONSTANTLY happens to me and I went from a 4.3 kd ratio to a 1.9 kd. it DEVESTATES me. It sucks. 343i, fix this and then you have a flawless game.
I know how you feel. My whole team quits and I get dropped again and again.
