LISTEN TO THIS and tell me Salta doesn’t get Halo. He has to at least have a collaborative role with Jinnouchi for H6. Salta even remastered a super obscure song from Halo: CE, Lost Muse, which wasn’t even RELEASED on the official soundtrack. Can you imagine it? Salta’s themes with the cinematic grandeur of Jinnouchi’s music (Jinnouchi’s theme’s can be there too!) In my honest opinion, Salta is the only other composer than Marty who understands what a mainline Halo really should sound like. Jinnouchi’s music is really good, but I personally believe it doesn’t suit Halo. With Salta there, we can get a healthy mix between him and Jinnouchi, and then everyone gets what they want.
Here’s a great article with Salta talking about his creative thought process making the Spartan Assault soundtrack.
I like Salta’s music. However I thought Halo 5’s soundtrack was one of the best in the series. To me, it’s like a perfect blend of the old with the new.
It’d be cool if Salta had some part of the soundtrack, but I’d prefer to have Kazuma as the main composer. I have yet to be disappointed by any of his work.
Kazuma also nailed the Halo style with Halo 5 too.

While I did recognize some themes, the overall style Kazuma went with I think is a departure from the iconic Halo sound (catchy, easy to remember melodies with very distinct beats from song to song). It certainly was a large step up from Halo 4’s OST, but it can still be better. (Also for some reason Halo 5’s soundtrack is REALLY loud. Like there is no right volume to listen to it; it’s either too loud or quiet.)
Eh, personally I think Tom’s music is a little bland. Too much percussion, etc. Not enough orchestra. I didn’t care for the Spartan Assault or Spartan Strike music at all, too repetitive, lack of themes, and a little boring. I can’t stand ambiance. Kazuma’s score for Halo 5 was definitely my favorite score so far, with his half of Halo 4 being my second favorite. I like the direction they are going right now, as it’s a lot more cinematic and meaningful. Spartan Assault-esque music would not fit well in a main Halo game such as “Halo 6”.

2. And here is where Kazuma comes in in the collaborative process.
1 and 3. You must not have liked a lot of songs from the Halo trilogy then.

I did like them, but I will admit that it was a little too repetitive and beat-driven for my taste. But that is just my opinion. Everyone has a different taste in music after all. Marty did have a lot more heart in his music though, and he had a lot of recognizable themes. I couldn’t really identify any themes in Tom Salta’s music. It just sounds like music loops to me, which, in my opinion, I believe the “loop” genre belongs in video games from the 90’s / early 2000’s. If anyone should be collaborating with Kazuma, I think it should be Marty. His score for Destiny was fantastic, and had a lot of similarities to Halo 4.

Well of course for a phone game, the OST has to be relatively quickly made. Salta’s work will definitely be better quality for a mainline Halo. From reading the article, I know he really understands the fans’ love for the Halo soundtracks, himself being one. And there is next to no hope of having Marty back in Halo. He’s working with Jaime Griesemer and Vic Deleon at Highwire Games now (which might be a return to the Bungie we all knew and loved).
Marty ftw

As for Marty, I know he’s done with Halo, but everyone has to admit him working with Kazuma would be amazing! As for it being a game for mobile devices, I actually didn’t think about that for some reason, I must be getting tired haha! That is a good point actually… the score probably had to be made quickly, and considering it is just a mobile game, he probably didn’t give it his “all”. I still prefer Kazuma, but maybe him working with Kazuma wouldn’t be a bad idea.
I think Kazuma Jinnouchi did an amazing job on Halo 5.
meh, whoever did H5 soundtrack need to do H6.

Yeah, I never intended Salta to replace Jinnouchi. Their collaboration to me only seems to benefit the series.
Hey guys if you read the OP, I’m saying that I want the two to collaborate, not to have Jinnouchi replaced.
