Get the Old Warthog In

I really dig the return of old Chief and mostly old marines(and possibly sentinels), but the warthog is still the new design. I don’t mean remove the bars around the vehicle or make it exactly like 3 or Reach or… I mean the suspension. The old hogs had that really awesome independent suspension and drive system. Also, if the warthogs have extremely fuel efficient hydrogen engines, why have bright orange jerry cans(presumably filled with water) on the back. Gives it an odd look.

Anyways, I dig the return of the classic look and I hope other classic parts return as well.

Edit: Also for context, look at the underside of the new one: M12 Chaingun Warthog - Vehicle - Halopedia, the Halo wiki
and the old one: M12 Warthog screenshots, images and pictures - Giant Bomb

I like the shiny Halo 1 warthog. The gun had a deeper BOOMBOOM too I think. But that was when vehicles were indestructible, normal warthog is fine too.

The new warthog never really bothered me that much so i wouldn’t care if they keep the new design. The only thing I might lose is the Jerry cans in the back

It’s not the new designs that get to me… it’s the colouring. If you look at the ONI hog in warzone, that hog looks great but it’s only because it has been given a darker aesthetic. I feel like if they were to give us a dark warthog but keep the new design, kinda like what they are doing with the battle rifles in the trailer, then I would be pretty happy.

Edit: (Moved to OP)

I can see darker colors also adding some to it too.

The new warthog itself didn’t bother me. The idiotic fuel cans did. Lets just put explosive fuel exposed in easy to puncture cans unprotected on the exterior of an unenclosed vehicle. Makes sense right?

The fuel cans presumably carry water for the hydrogen engine in the hog. If they actually do carry fuel, then that is pretty ridiculous. That said, it just looks tacky.

I don’t have any problems with the warthog. I do wish they would fix the steering on the scorpion when it’s in tight corridors.

Agreed. Odd color choice for the cans if it is in case water. Wonder what blue cans mean in the future.

I just want vehicles to be not made of cardboard this time…

Make vehicles great again.

In all seriousness, I can’t remember Halo 4&5, but I hated the seperate health for vehicles in Halo Reach. I know it was to make them not as powerful, but you’d just ignore flaming vehicles because of it. I liked how it was done in Halo 2&3, where the more damaged the vehicle was, the more damage was transfered to you. Damaged vehicles were still worthwhile, but damaging them still had an impact.
