The amount of Red vs Blue characters I can now have without buying 17 different sets is staggering.

My thoughts exactly…now all you need is Blood Gultch…

I ordered another figure for my collection just recently, and he arrived today.

I picked up my first Non spartan figure. Dutch from ODST. He is my favorite character from the game. I probably should have picked him much earlier than this, but I really didn’t collect Halo figures until Halo Reach was out, so it never dawned on me to pick him up until recently.

The figure is really detailed, much more so than the past couple batches of McFarlane figures have been. And the size comparison between him and a Spartan is staggering. I didn’t realize that they scaled the figures. Dutch is supposed to be fairly tall, but the top of his helmet only comes up to the center of John’s chest plate. (for reference, S117 from “The Package” collection.)

My only complaint is that Dutch’s wrists are extremely tiny. Like tooth pick tiny. I can see them easily snapping with very little force. I don’t think that this is going to cause any problems as he is just a desk ornament at work, but if he happens to take a spill off the desk, I can see him losing his hands.

And never ever buy a Halo 3 Active Camo figure. I bought the Arbiter new in-package, and his foot joint was already snapped by the time I opened him. I hear the other ACs were just as bad.

Basically, look at it this way:

McFarlane’s 5" scale is actually the most fragile scale they’ve made. The 6" scale (Halo: Reach and Halo 4) are significantly more durable, as in they won’t snap in the process of removing them from the packaging.

I got lucky with the Arbiter. I lost all of that luck with the Reach Spec-Ops two pack. It sucked army building those Grunts because you had to also buy those greasy, broken Elites.

I’ll have to bring in my Halo 3 Spartan to work to see how he measures up to Dutch. Strangely, he’s the only one I left at home for some reason.

At work (where most of my figures are at on display) I have 7 Spartans on my desk. Carter and 2 custom Spartans from Reach, John and Fred from the Package and John and the Rust Scout from Halo 4. Jun is here somewhere too … I just can’t seem to find him at the moment.

Jun? Going missing without anyone knowing where he went? Where have I heard that before…

Oh, and what exactly is that grease on the Elites?

SDCC is, as I expected, soul crushing to McFarlane Halo collectors. It is quite unfortunate that he has thrown TWD on the pedestal now. It is very sad that the first line of figures I collect is at its end. What is worse is that there is so much that could have been made.

That’s a bummer.
Anyhow, after building a Master Grade Gundam model, I can’t imagine how good Halo would look like with such model kits. Imagine rebuilding your Spartan or Elite with new features or different pieces.

I have not updated the thread in a while, partly due to my recent forum promotion and some other more personal business. For that, I feel rather guilty and apologize that this thread doesn’t exactly have all the “latest” Halo Toy News. I hope to remedy this and once again have this thread’s title be indicative of its contents.

Target.com has a lot of Fall 2014 sets in stock RIGHT NOW. While they currently say “Online only”, I know for a fact that the Flood Invasion set and Broadsword Midnight Strike set are both in local stores as well.

Here’s the set listings for the current MB Halo sets on target.com ATM: Click to view all sets currently available online, as well as check for store availability and view the prices. They have the Flame Warthog, Broadsword (w/ Didact, Cortana, and MC), Police Cruiser, UNSC Elephant (Halo Wars edition) (w/ Carter and Jun), Flood Invasion, a listing for the RC Mantis, and the Police Hornet. They also have 2 of 3 Target exclusives for this year, which I will go into detail about later.

Toysrus.com has a lot of Fall 2014 sets in stock as well. By choosing to see if your store supports “In Store Pickup”, you can get a somewhat accurate portrayal of the stock in your local TRU’s. Click here for all of the HMB listings on toysrus.com ATM. They have a listing for the Mongoose (w/ Emile!), UNSC Wombat (w/ Rookie!), Police Cruiser, a listing for the Flame Warthog, Broadsword (w/Didact, Cortana, and MC), Elephant (w/ Carter and Jun), and one of 3 TRU exclusives for this year, the Anniversary Battleground (w/ Tartarus (no Fist of Rukt, but an awesome painted Gravity Hammer, at least)).

Now, as I hinted at above, Target has 3 exclusives for this year, and the subject of these sets rather excites me a lot. Plus orange.

Last Man Standing II (modalurl got confused by the “.jpg?” in the url, so I used url), containing an Orange JFO (Last man standing), a Glow-in-the-dark Halo: Reach EVA, a Glow-in-the-Dark Halo: Reach Scout, a Glow-in-the-Dark Hazop, and a Glow-in-the-Dark Halo: Reach Operator.

Containment Armory, containing an Orange Halo: Reach Commando and a Glow-in-the-Dark Halo: Reach Operator

Containment Outpost Patrol (again, modalurl got confuzzled), containing an Orange Hazop, a Glow-in-the-Dark Halo: Reach Scout with Orange armor, too, and a Glow-in-the-Dark Halo: Reach Commando with Orange armor.

Also, there is one Walmart exclusive: Revenant Raid (modalurl strikes again), containing a white Aviator, a white Halo 4 GUNGNIR, a white Recruit, and a white Halo 4 Scout. Also, it contains a Blue Storm Elite and a Blue Halo 4 Zealot.

With that, I have updated y’all. What do you guys think?

Dat Shadow with the three Elite Honor Guards! Oh, -Yoink!-!

And all those Zombie packs they’ve been announcing. Freaking sweet!

Yeah, for a major Infection/Flood fan, the Target exclusives are a dream come true!

I definitely need that Revenant Raid. Never picked up the first one, but this one has some good figures!

> I definitely need that Revenant Raid. Never picked up the first one, but this one has some good figures!

Certainly. It exchanges the bubble shield, crate, and barricades for 3 extra figs. Plus, those 3 have bonus articulation, and we mustn’t discount the other white fig, either.

This is a must buy for army builders and collectors alike, just as last year’s Walmart exclusive was (which I missed out on… -_-)

Woohoo! Infection! My second most fav gametype!(first is Dominion). I’m definitely getting those, assuming that I actually have some money spared from the Xbox One. By this time, I’m on set for 100-200 extra so I hope I can get these before it is too late!

I might have to go hunt down that Walmart exclusive. I didn’t see it at the last one I stopped by this past week, but I’ll definitely keep my eyes out for it.
