Get Series X at launch or wait for Infinite?

Personally I’m going to be buying the next gen Xbox when Infinite drops. Hopefully the Xbox Series S is out by then and I’ll pick up both mainly because there aren’t too many games with the Series X and I won’t be buying game pass anytime soon. I’m also trying to grind for 152 in Halo 5, but I have it in disc form instead of digital so I’m much more inclined to wait. What is everyone else doing when the Series X launches?

I think I’m going to buy it at launch. There are a lot of games that will be upgraded on Series X and I definitely want to play them.

At this point, I will wait for Halo: Infinite.

  1. Hopefully, we will get a cool Chief-themed Xbox Series X instead of the dreadful Locke-themed Halo 5 Xbox One.
  2. I am excited for the new Fable, but I want to see gameplay first.

Get a PC instead >:)

I’d recommend the Series X since it means faster loading times and potentially any game you own could lead to being updated with ‘Ray tracing’ and more BC games…plus unlike PC…XSX allows physical copies.

Getting ps5 then x when halo hopefully comes out with a halo series x

At this moment there is not a reason to get one. Halo Infinite does not even look next gen. So until something comes out that gives you a personal reason to get it it’s a waste. This will be the first time that I may get the new playstation over a new xbox. Especially if the rumors are true.

Maybe one day! I really do want to get one however to me it is hard to pass up the rumored price of $200-250 for the Series S that and I have a my friends that play xbox and not pc.

Well yeah if you have amazing internet and intend on subscribing to Game Pass, the Series S is probably your smartest option

I’m getting Series X day one. I have plenty games to play, and I’ll have a few new ones too.

Get a Series X and play Cyberpunk 2077 while you wait for Infinite.

I think I’m gonna wait honestly. I don’t wanna buy a Series X only for a Halo one to come out a year later. If anything, I’ll pick up a Series S if I really want but I have a One X right now so it’s not terrible.

I recently got a super fancy gaming pc as a gift, so I’ll probably use that as my main platform for Infinite. I also purchased a new Xbox One S like a month ago, so I’m not exactly jumping to discard that so soon. Better to make due with what I already have, I say.

I’ll be waiting for infinite due to the fact ill be on pc and don’t need to waste money on tech thats already behind on launch day.

I’m still leading towards just putting my money into my computer as I’m just really not seeing the point of buying Xbox anymore. Microsoft seems to be pushing PC more and more and they have exclusive games whereas Xbox doesn’t anymore… Xbox console users are really getting shafted in this “deal” PC players get all the Xbox exclusives, yet Xbox doesn’t get PC exclusives, what the hell is that about!!! My biggest thing before back in the day was I hated M/KB, but now I can use a controller!

This said, I’m a big Halo collector fan and I’m sure there will be a series x Halo console, so I may end up getting that but I’m not going to get a “normal” series x day 1 that’s for sure.

I’m chagrined to say that I don’t plan on purchasing at launch since Infinite won’t be launching alongside. I was looking forward to purchasing a new Xbox console at launch for the first time, but no Halo at launch just piles onto the problem of exclusivity draught MS has been suffering this entire console gen.

It is wonderful that the Series X will support my Xbox One, Xbox 360, and Xbox libraries to such an impressive extent. However, my One X already does this. Until Halo is released and plays best on Series X, I’m not picking one up. I’m an Xbox Fan, so that hurts a bit to say, but they’re just not incentivising my purchase.

I know a few players that are not buying Series X because there’s no exclusives anymore. It’s a shame too, Xbox consoles should have exclusives but we’ll just have to accept that they’re a thing of the past as far as Xbox goes. I’m buying the Series X day one, Xbox is my preferred console.

I’ll wait until Halo Infinite launches, my xbox one still gets the job done and I want that sweet Halo special edition  I’d like to get a PC since it gives you great advantages but in my country they’re not as accessible price wise as an xbox.

I would wait because from the sounds of it’s going to be hugely expensive at launch and there’s not really any games being made available for it.

Personally though I don’t see the point in getting one at all since Halo Infinite will be out across other Xbox consoles and support crossplay.

With or without Hi, I would wait three or four months before getting it. Don’t like the idea of being a beta tester for some new tech! :stuck_out_tongue:

…even though I’m in PC flights for MCC. Download ODST you stupid internet!

Meh, frankly 600 bucks for what it’s inside is hardly overpriced, quite the opposite. That said, less the better of course!^^ Not to mention, Monster only used placeholders apparently, so we still don’t know the real price. Could be anything between four- and six-hundred! A lot has to do with Sony as well, I’ll guess they make a last second decision based on their reveal.
