Get rid of weapon countdowns... really..

Part of being good at Halo was knowing when power weapons were going to spawn… But with these weapon countdowns everyone is always fighting for snipers… Its very frustrating…

Now there is always like two people sitting right at sniper jusy waiting for it to drop… Half the time my teammates are fighting me to get it first.

I have a feeling a lot of you will disagree. But weapon countdowns NEED TO GO.

in a game widely advertised for its “highest skill gap” yet includes things like Call Outs and Weapon Timers and Waypoints?

mfw H4 MP was more enjoyable

Yep exactly… I enjoy h5 but there is a lot that bothers me from it too.

And my bad i accidentally hit submit before i typed anything. Darn phone.

Its fine. If you cant handle killing someone else for the rocket as it spawns then it was not meant for you.

Now you actually have to fight for it most if the time. Big deal. Why is that so bad?

because a large part of the skill gap is knowing callouts/weapon spawns without the game doing it for you

But what does that matter? If you played anyone competent you were already fighting over the power weapons.

Lolwut? If i cant handle killing someone for rockets? Im talking about MY TEAMMATES dude… Not the other team.

There is always someone else on my team standing on snipe spawn trying to beat me to it.

Did you play all the other halos? They never had weapon countdowns… Being able to time weapons on your own was a skill in itself…

Well what about when you play the uncompetent players? Why should you have to battle them to get sniper?

Shouldnt it only be the competent players who are able to time weapons?

Yeah, but giving accessibility for everyone to those aspects make the game more competitive, which in a way is strange. But, it does make weapon control more challenging as well as give some predictability to where enemies will be. One could also argue that a team of randoms with no callout knowledge would “randomly” find a Sniper or Rocket Launcher, and how is that a skill? Just some thoughts. A noob can atleast contest the hardcore Sniper hog now.

^ agreed

> There is always someone else on my team standing on snipe spawn trying to beat me to it.

So how is it any different if in say Halo 3 everyone on my team memorized the spawns and were sitting on them all match anyways?

The weapon indicators of Halo 5 eliminate some of the initial knowledge barrier the game has, but aside from that they have a negligible effect on the skill gap itself. I also can’t really consider the first half of that statement to be a bad thing, as it’s just an arbitrary requirement to begin with.

“REEL MLG PLAYERS READ A LIST ONLINE AND SPEND FIVE MINUTES MEMORIZING IT”, said hopefully no one ever.

And I’m saying this as someone who has already memorized both the indicated and non-indicated item spawns.

Yeah, I can see that as annoying, but a team with communication doesn’t have that issue which is more skillful too and not having multiple players going for it.

so instead of a countdown, you just want people to count down because you think it will promote skill? hate to tell you this but concept is not also good when played out. they also thought promethean vision would end camping but it promoted it. what alot of people did back in Halo 1 and 2 and 3 etc we would have high weapon camp rates. why would anyone camp in Halo 5 for a PW when it notifies you? see back on Ivory tower there would be people camping rockets because there was a good hiding spot that worked all the time and i could just sit wait, grab rockets, blast and win the game. what you just said actually stops weapon camping, because when the rockets are about to spawn on Coliseum, everyone and their mother is running to in so no one is camping and getting it because they’d die. also it helps out alot. in a close situation when we are losing and its near end, i see the timer, i run and explosives are going off boom boom and everyone is shooting at each other and me “bam bam” and than i am about near RL and the timer at 1 second… its about to spawn… i grab it right as it spawns. I do a 180 and fire and “BOOOOOM” kill 3 or 4 enemy players and we came back and won the game. so no it stays. it has less camping. you should of seem Reach, pw campfest. get you your picnic basket and blanket, pop up your tent and sit and wait.

It doesn’t make it more competitive. It just simplifies the game and guarantees more showdowns at regular intervals.

^^^ exactly lol someone here really remembers what power weapons really did at it’s spawn zone.

If its your teammates then who cares? Your team is getting the power weapons. If he is already standing on the sniper waiting for ut to spawn watch his back.

You just sound greedy.

so you dont want anyone to know so you can camp out out power weapon with out being “contested” so it’s easier to grab rocket launcher or sniper rifle.

Actually I disagree with your last post.

People don’t camp at high levels of play, with or without the indicators, as they already know the times to begin with.

All the indicators change is low level matches.

And I’m saying as someone who uses the iPhone Halo 1 Timer that H5 has made it a lot easier. In the heat of a match in CE I sometimes miss stuff but no one ever misses anything in H5 because the game calls it out for you.

“Team is fighting over power weapons and killing each other” Oh no really?!?!?!?! lol welcome to the club, this bs has been happening since the beginning. you know what actually would solve it, that every other game has done and worked but some wanna be Halo mlg fanboys will never admit to? Remove Friendly Fire, the amount of friendly first that is intentional vs unintentional is staggering. they remove in in Battlefront and when someone gets the Hero icon people try to melee you but they cant because no FF. It’s kind of a human animal response. even when we know we cant kill them we get frustrated and try to kill our teammates because we wanted it. even i do it without conscious. i run for Awing spawn and some Yoink takes it so i melee him. its only natural response. so by removing, no TK. problem solved. Oh but thats right, the halo tryhard on this website that abuse it to steal power weapons from their teammates try to argue its more skill so they can have it to keep killing their TM so they can have sniper rifle and don’t want Bungie/343 to ever get rid of it because it makes their lives easier.
