Can we simply chalk it up as a fun experiment that flopped and needs to be shelved faster than Frankensteins monster? I can’t stand how I’m constantly reset and paired with either suuuuuper crappy teammates or up against opponents who obliterate my team regardless if I’m carrying the team or trailing. Please do away with 2 month seasons. What is the point of qualifying just to have it reset as soon as you do??? It’s ludicrous and another nail in the coffin for the franchise otherwise
The point of the season system was to avoid all the bad behavior that’s driven by rank lock. In my estimation that’s a noble goal although it certainly hasn’t worked out the way they thought it would. I don’t really know what the answer is, but a seasonless system (like H3) produced just as much reprehensible behavior, if not more, as this system does. I guess that makes them both failures. I say come up with a third option - just repealing seasons is no real answer.
Microsoft could start by not handing out 10 free profiles to every gold member (essentially 10 Smurf accounts). I agree with the OP on lot of things. Losing XP and dropping ranks to unranked players is rage inducing. I don’t care if the system places them accordingly or not, that -Yoink- should not happen period.
I have personally never felt as level locked in H3 as I do now in H5. I don’t see the incentive to resetting ranks just to place back where you were if not lower, and to constantly play unbalanced matches devoid of enjoyment.
H3s MM may not have been perfect but H5s is worse and is demotivating as far as I’m concerned. But H3 had the benefit of good maps and playlists, vehicles and armor unlocks that were actually felt like there worth something
The limited seasons could work, but the problem is there wasn’t much incentive to keep trying to rank up. The emblems weren’t anything special and they’re now getting rid of them and the leaderboards will help, but it’s only for the top players so the majority will never see where they stand. Adding something else couldn’t hurt, but overall, grinding isn’t fun when the game is stale to begin with.
Once I get ranked it feels incredibly hard to move up and far too easy to fall down in rank. No point in playing as far as I see it after the ten games. Especially when you get teammates who leave when the match starts or they can’t even aim an AR. The system is very flawed and needs some work.
The system has a fairly good idea of what your CSR should be, so it will place you with teammates and opponents just like when you’re ranked anyway
