I have my own issues with Halo 4, and this is one of them. Random ordnance drops are no fun. It seems like they always spawn the same weapons on every map; usually Scattershots and a whole lot of Needlers.
It’s hard to find power weapons to play with outside of Infinity Slayer (I play mostly Regicide) what with both random drops and the ridiculous despawn timer on dropped weapons; someone grabs ordnance and gets killed 3 seconds later, and by the time the other guys are finished fighting over, it’s already vanished before anyone has the chance to claim it.
I’d rather have fixed power weapon spawns like in previous games, for FFA and Objective at least (seeing as there are plenty of power weapons in Infinity Slayer). It would also bring back that aspect of map control to the game.
You mean make more power weapon campers? That’s no fun.
I like the random drops, they add variety to the game. As to map control, if you have true control of the map, you should be able to reach the ordnance fairly easily (as ordnance almost never spawns at the enemy’s base where you can’t really get it) or kill the guy that picks it up pretty quick. Set spawns will bring back the 4 people waiting for laser on CTF and the one that actually plays the game
The random ordinance has made everybody campers, it is awful. By letting everyone have power weapons by not having to go out there and risk death to get it, has just made me sad.
Its not as random as most people think. Just look at the drops in forge. Each drop has only a few select weapons that can spawn there. In forge you can see every single spot that weapons will spawn. If you want to know the map, you have to take the time to learn it.
> No, they’re fine. Now the game is more about teamwork than rushing for the rockets and sniper rifle and camping weapon spawns.
lol, yeah now instead of using teamwork to acquire the weapons, you can sit back and farm kills for yourself and get power weapons all without moving, yeah great teamwork. i’m really intrigued by your faulty logic
The only big problem I see with ordinance is that it has become a huge incentive for folks to camo-camp, which can drastically slow down and stupefy gameplay and serve to disproportionately push annoying gameplay off on random searchers. Making camo a drop instead of an AA would likely solve the issue and force some lazier players to grow a pair. Assassinations would also appear a little more prestigious.
> Just throwing this out there, there are NON infinity playlists. You don’t HAVE to play with random ordinance drops.
Even Slayer Pro has random global ordnance, and instant respawns. Can people who like Halo for the characteristics that make Halo unique play slayer in matchmaking? Nope.
