It’s just annoying. You have to kill people with the least amount of shots possible without missing. 343 please get rid of this in the next update.
I also found it annoying, but mostly because of the hit reg issues.
No, this challenge is difficult yet fair. One that can actually be called a challenge. It was actually fun, and rewarding to accomplish.
Can you stop whining at everything that has any challenge to it instead?
Use Shock Rifle, it counts.
The shockrifle is the way to go. It took me three matches of Fiesta to get it done - one perfect per match.
there’s nothing rewarding or challenging about them, it’s just tedium that alters your gameplay that’s required for people grinding the weekly reward for the sake of extending game time or warranting the purchase of swaps in the case of the non-final challenge.
No one gets excited seeing someone’s spartan in the intro going “holy crap that guy managed to get the 15 double kills back in week 42 of season 2 that’s so cool”.
They should lock weeklies behind an exp bar, and make challenges harder but give a ton of exp.
Better yet have specific challenges that reward specific items, that would actually be rewarding instead of everything being a boring mobile game reward system.
Apparently I have 909 perfect medals out of 1700 games. I make that one every 2 games ish. (I imagine people have a lot more than I).
However - it took me ten games to get three for this challenge. My point is it’s harder to do it when you’re trying to do it.
I used the Br and stalker rifle to get mine.
Edit …. one of the challenges on MCC this week is to finish games with positive k/d’s. They should also use this one in a challenge in Infinite.
You have way more perfects than me in less games too, yet I still think this was a reasonable weekly challenge. Much more challenging than most but that should be okay every once in a while.
Just use precision weapons where you can, obviously playing BR starts will help, but otherwise just play normally and you will get 3 perfects eventually. Using the shock rifle is good advice too but it’s very hard to get your hands on most of the time.
I think this is one of those kinds of challenges that are frustrating, yet fair. Shock Rifles, BR, and Sidekicks are all viable, and I typically get them on BTB.
I wouldn’t have as much of a problem with it except my BR jams constantly.
It didnt even cross my mind that this would be considered an unfair challenge until I saw this thread. Believe me, I’m not good at this game at all and finished this one in 3-5 games.
Best suggestion for sure when it comes to perfect kills.
It’s an interesting one but if you really aren’t playing at a high level this is possibly an easier challenge. At lower levels people tend to stand still a lot more, at higher levels they are constantly strafing and jumping,
That’s a good point. I’m mid Gold and there’s a TON of variety in people’s 1v1 mechanics. I’m struggling to break the old H3 jump strafe so I’m probably easier to hit perfects on.
I disagree. A Perfect medal can be gained fairly easily as its a medal accessed from all precision weapons. So you don’t need to fight for one since you already spawn with one.
This is also better for challenges that restrict you to play a certain way. If challenges did not make you work to do something hard, then those challenges become repetitive and tedious. I rather have “get three perfect medals” than “get 200 kills” as a ultimate challenge. At least the one of those can be done in a single game.
In some ways, that’s true. Just not in the way you’re interpreting it. If people look at someone’s account and see their reputation really positive, its something to be impressed of. “Holy crap this guy has earned 1000 Ninja medals and 600 Quiglies! He must be a great sniper!” Or “Damn this guy has beaten the campaign on legendary all skulls on!”.
Oh 100% agreed. My issue is with the fact that people are pretending weeklies are worth anything because they’re called challenges but there’s nothing challenging or prestigious about them or the rewards they bring since they’re just basic mobile game retention systems.
A system that unlocks certain armors for doing certain things: e.g. gloves that unlock at 1000 pistol kills, then the chest for 1000 AR kills, etc. to unlock a full set. Or an armor set that requires you to play lots of objectives, but instead of needing a 1000 for an unlock, you get it way earlier but maybe instead it upgrades when you reach certain milestones.
Or just simply have level unlocks like in Reach, just anything that shows you spend time/skill on the game, not your money on the shop or having grinded the weekly for 3 hours on a certain week.
I get what you mean. But then it seperates the players that want cosmetics and play all the time, vs the players that cant play all the time. Eventually, items need challenges that can be gained in the most minimal amount of time possible while not being completely based on luck. Hence why the past challenges such splatters, Killjoy medals arent a thing and its just perfect kills.
In the end, not everyone just wants to get rewards by their time. And people definitely dont wqnt to get them by money. So thats why there has to be challenge systems.
Personally to me, I think the problem is that challenge systems are good, its the little amount you can do in Halo matches that makes it hwrd to come up with good challenges that work on skill and not luck.
Some of that could be alleviated by having season-long and lifetime challenges that are directly tied to specific cosmetics. It lends some ability to get more creative with challenges; something like 50 “return to sender” medals isnt ridiculous if I have no time limit. Additionally, if the cosmetics are really recognizable for these challenges youve got an opportunity to show off a bit when you have them.
I think the challenge is fine. Far more skill-based than luck-based, for one thing. Unless you normally go for body shots or never use precision weapons, I don’t see it being a drastic change to gameplay. My brother originally never touched things like BR and snipers, but after being motivated due to these challenges, he’s not too bad and will occasionally choose a precision weapon over something else.
As for me, as long as I’m using a non-plasma weapon, I’m always trying for headshots because they do more damage than body shots. Even with an AR from mid-range, you can do better aiming for the head than body. But my favorite thing about going for perfect medals is to hear the announcer say it; I love it.
