I think it is very disappointing how I can spend days grinding the MCC on legendary in order to get Helioskrill, and when I finally get it, you realize someone else can just get it from a lucky req pack, no achievement needed. I think it really lessens the value of certain armor pieces that you got for some special achievement if literally anybody else can get it through the req system. Like I have the Fotus Chillrose armor set (Unicorn Armor) because it was exclusively given to anybody who got the limited addition, Halo 5 Xbox 1, like I did, and instead of it being a one in thousands armor piece, anybody else can get just another variant that looks basically the same for free. I don’t use it now because it does not feel special. I don’t think that it would be hard for 343 to just tweak those few armor sets like Helioskrill and Fotus Chillrose, and every other achievement based armor, so that they would be like Achilles, where they are very rare, and you only get them through whatever you did was special. I think that this would really help to make those armors fell special, and gain you the recognition you deserve for getting those rare achievements. Please 343, its an easy modification.
Agreed. Well other armor may look like Fotus Chillrose, but it doesn’t mean it is!
I’m not sure what the logic is behind some of the decisions that were made regarding H5. There is practically nothing mythic, legendary or rare in customization’s. Anybody can have it so they are all commons.
343 didn’t want to make things that exclusive. I don’t mind it actually.
I agree, I did all the MCC on legendary solo for my Helioskrill, then they devalue my efforts, I waisted my time.

I can’t understand this POV. There’s only one set of armour that can be “earned” in Halo 5, which is one of the reasons why not much people play it anymore
[Post duplicated itself]
I highly doubt people that don’t play Halo 5 reason for not playing is because of the exclusivity of armors and helmets. That’s silly. The purpose of having almost every set of armor available to everyone is so new people can join the game and potentially get some legendary helmet without having worked so hard for it. When I first jumped on I got a Wrath helmet and this was when I was a relatively low rank, I was happy to rock it for a very long time.
I understand it frustrates die-hard fans, but 343 is likely trying to appeal to the casual fans as well.
I got my helioskrill from the legend achievement and have it known when anybody asks about it, I earned this armor the hard way and usually represent it most of the time I play.
Yeah I can proudly say I earned Helioskrill and was rocking it when I did. It was pretty lame that not only was a variant made of it but it was also added to the req system. Shortly after I stopped wearing it. But it is somewhat understandable why they did it. As bugged as MCC was and as hard as it is to get some achievements to register as complete with 343s wonky servers. Even some H5 achievements don’t work regularly.
I completely agree!

The MCC doesn’t have most those problems anymore. Cheevoes pop instantly now.

Yeah but who cares about now. They didn’t work regularly well after the game was released. I had to redo plenty of achievements, some several times, to get them to work. H5 has the same problem, granted not nearly as bad as MCC was, but some achievements won’t pop. I used to be an avid achievement Hunter but these server side achievements being so unstable makes it not as worth trying them. Another player and I did the one where you had to finish swords of Sanghelios in mantis on heroic or higher and we did it three times and the achievement never popped. I pretty much gave up on achievements after that. So it’s understandable why they aren’t linking some cosmetics to achievements seeing how they can’t make their achievements actually work 100%.

I don’t get it either. The REQs provide no incentive, no goal for people to work toward.
I really want to get Buck’s helmet, and if there was some way I could achieve getting it, I’d probably play the game a lot to do so. Instead, I know it’s a total longshot based solely on luck and it doesn’t give me any incentive to play the game.
343 needs to bring back unlocking armor based on achievements/quests/etc. Collect all the skulls. Access all the terminals. Beat the game on Legendary. Hell, throw in some vidmaster challenges for the really cool armor.
I finished MCC legendary before I heard about Helioskrill so I thought it was a nice bonus. I was hoping there would be more ways to get special armor in the future.
I think they should have exclusive sets but only as Achivements like 3 (But there might have been some special armor or helmets you get but I don’t remember).
