Get More Splaser Kills with This One Weird Trick

You won’t believe your eyes! But seriously, this has even helped a mediocre player like me to better assist my team in reducing the enemy’s vehicle advantage.

The vanilla Spartan Laser’s signature drawback is its extended visual warning to the enemy vehicle that a laser blast is imminent. So, for the first part of the Spartan Laser’s charging cycle, just point it at a nearby obstruction, then aim up to the enemy vehicle before the laser fires. That’s it! The enemy vehicle will have much less time to see the aiming laser, process the threat, and evade. This has enabled me to assist my team against enemy vehicle supremacy as early as req level 4. Hope this helps some of us non-pros to scrap more expensive enemy vehicles!

You mean this being the 4th Halo game with a laser and that’s still not a common sense thing to do? Smh. I think I did it on the 2nd laser I grabbed and fired on Halo 3. Maybe that tip will help newcomers but I’d hope they would figure that out lol.

You mean with a clickbait title?

Yeah from what I’ve seen throughout my experience with Halo 5, it is very widely NOT known. I wish it was, so my teammates would counter vehicles more effectively. But learning little tricks is all part of the fun.

I usually only do that against a good driver because I know they’ll see the laser beam. It’s still amazing how many people don’t notice the beam though.

The title could be from on of this not trustable adds, that promise you money without working.

I wish the Spartan Laser’s initial flashing lights were a cone that spun and converged on the middle then fired.

This way those on the receiving end can be better aware that their vehicle fun is going to be shut down and they can try to respond.

I find it fun to get cooked by the splaser even though my reticle is on the target but manages to clip a wall in front of me.

Wow, I never knew that.

If I wanted a Buzzfeed article I’d go to my Facebook news feed.

Agreed, especially against evade-happy banshee pilots, where letting the aiming laser rest on them for the whole charge-up cycle is like a giant invitation to loop-de-loop. And yeah if there’s multiple vehicles within range, I’ll go for the one engaged in the most intense firefight and hope that the bullet trails flying everywhere mask my aiming laser a little.

Like Predator-style aiming lights? That would be awesome. I’d use that even if it wasn’t the right weapon for the situation just to see the aiming animation!

I didn’t either for the longest time and no one told me. I had always assumed that Spartan Lasers were for tank-killing only, but with this little method you can get consistent hits on banshees, phaetons, etc. And it makes tank-killing even easier, since the tank driver now cannot turn the turret towards you in enough time before your laser discharges.

Haha! Yeah I thought the title would be a funny play on those “From Around the Web” ads you always see at the bottom of pages.

I have had that exact thing happen to me, and afterwards there’s a “what the f…” then facepalm.

I will say, thought, that the Spartan Laser does feel better compared to its early state in Halo 5. Still could you a slight power boost IMO.
