This was the WORST halo campaign so far.
Press three buttons, insert/eject cortana from 3 different consoles, destroy three glowing balls… The ending “fight” with the Didact? Wtf were you thinking? Halo 2’s campaign was better than this and it wasn’t even finished!
I nearly laughed at the -Yoink- Cortana said in the campaign… really really weird sexual tension near the end. On a good note the CGI cutscenes were absolutely beautiful and the reveal of the Didact was great. But everything else falls flat on it’s face.
It seems like you guys are trying to borrow elements from Call of Duty and Crysis. But both these games do it better than you! Halo already had a strong campaign and multiplayer… you forced elements into this game that don’t belong.
Get your -Yoink- together 343i.
Your argument becomes invalid when you mention compare it to Cod.
Your argument is invalid when you fail to see it borrows elements from Call of Duty. Just as many games borrow elements from Halo.
In the case of multiplayer I believe these things work. It creates faster gameplay for the average casual gamer and allows more customization.
Don’t be a fool. It’s not hard to see that killcams, faster respawning, and load outs are a way of capturing a much larger audience. You know the audience of Call of Duty, sadly the most successful(monterey wise) videogame ever.
What I find repulsive is the campaign. The ending “fight” in the Didact could have been an actual battle instead of some Crysis 2/CoD ending -Yoink-.
I disagree alot, Halo 4’s first half of campaign was easily the best first half of any of the halo games. the second was brought back down to Earth but still decent. I was left wanting more, it should of had at least 1 more mission and the final mission could have been better but overall the campaign was great. At least second if not the best Halo campaign
Spoiler alert
But by the end of level three, there seems to be a switch pattern here… Also, in a first person game mid-level cutscenes should never leave first person. It detaches people from the game and the character… Ineffective narration at its finest.

The beginning half of Halo 4 was great, on par with 1,3 and ODST. (I’d say the first three levels of H4.)
I can only describe Halo 4’s campaign in one word. Messy. Nearly as messy as Halo 2. The thing is when Halo 2 was released the Halo universe was not as large as it is now. 343 has to keep track of a lot of different things when building their game. They have stricter parameters.
They need to bring campaign back to it’s roots. More sandbox, less button pushing.
And just get rid of QTEs. Might as well just make it a cutscene.
