Gosh there are so many bad posts full of terrible opinions. I have mentored quite a few players but most of the time people on this game lack the intelligence…
If you want to be decent at halo wars:
Make friends with better players than you
Be prepared to be told that you are trash and give up what you think you know
Copy strategies from other players but think outside the box
Know/ learn every counter to every unit for every leader&facfion
Are you sure you know all the maps and all the crate spawns?
Play both factions if you can - I became an all round better player when I played as unsc (from scratch)
Learn to micro

get good. get lost. stop whining about bad players.lots of people are bad at halo wars and they can share their opinion if they want; whether you think its bad or not.
And once again we get some person that thinks they are the best halo wars player and because they think they are the best they have the right to boss us around on the fourms. Well I must admit my strategies are not the best and alot people will agree that im a bad team player but i get results with those and my team usually wins with me getting 1st place often. You cannot tell people to stop sharing their opinions its a community and if they want to share an opinion they can.Also I usually always use a covy and i prefer them over UNSC.

A different approach to the subject would be nice, but sometimes this type of approach is necessary. However, there are players who are never going to listen and that’s their choice. High level players have been trying to help others get better, but there is only so much one can learn from the forums. A long time ago, I was taught the fundamentals of high level play by a good player and I can say this: It takes time for a player to truly understand high level play and even more time to be able to apply it to a game. Things like micro take time and practice and can not be mastered by just having someone tell you what to do. However, given the time and patience, one can become a good high level player.
Also, a reminder that the forums have rules and that certain things are not allowed. It’s sad, but they’re there for a reason.

This game is actually ridiculously easy. There are a few things that separate high level players from the “best”, but virtually anyone can become a good player (at least 40+ TS) if they are willing to learn and practice new strategies.
bb is right. It’s not hard to become a high level player. There aren’t many high level players because many people don’t listen or take the time to learn from better players.

where is he saying that he is the best halo wars player? 2) He isn’t bossing around, he’s trying to help 3) you won 127 out of your 304 games, meaning you lose more games than you win and you are saying that your team usually wins ?
maybe you should try and listen to the better halo wars people and actually improve in this game.

Tahst because i win alot of the games i do play. Alot of the times I resign because I have common sense and i know i will lose i am alwyas in games were there is 2 or 3 generals on the other team i have common sense im going to get rushed and i will lose because i got tow recruits on my team that wil deffiently fail me so why not resign. Out of the games I stick aroung to play i might have 50-60 legit losses and 127 wins meaning i resigned about 100 times because im getting rushed of the start and i know i can not fight back and i will lose. and he seems to be acting like every one that makes a bad opinion sucks.
A good player can 1v3 in ua 3s. It doesn’t really matter who is in the game. Take for example a game that I played. A typical game may involve me using a three base gauss build. I will go and kill one guys base by around 8min, then I go to the next guys base and kill him by about 10min, and I take out the third guy by around 12min. All the while, my teammates have done nothing while I 1v3ed the other team in under 15min. The general rank means absolutely nothing to high level players and it is often easy to 1v3 them.
High level players have been rushed countless times by people who think they know what they’re doing, but with simple hog micro and/or base management, they are able to easily get them off.
If you were to look at the ua 3s games of high level players, you would see that they have won about 95% of their games. The games that they lost are more often then not due to the fact that there was a high level player on the other team.
It makes me sad that most halo wars players do not listen to any high level players. No one ever stops to think that maybe high level players win for a reason and most players just ignore the fact that they can become better by just listening to their advice. I hope that that can change.
The main reason generals TEND to win is because people like me (ranked brig) are trying to get to general and often use strategies that get the most points rather than instant wins. For example as covenant banshees/vampires are effective but you tend to lose a lot of them which reduces your multiplier, so I usually don’t make them.
