Get back blood!

Halo 5 was also a Teen Game and it had blood splatter on the ground. And with Xbox series X / S being the most powerful Xbox ever there’s no excuse. The original Xbox did it 20 years ago, why Xbox series X/S could not?

Simple answer, 343i doesn’t want to. That’s not rocket sciene and has nothing to do with the technical capabilities of the respectively used hardware, pal.

Yeah I know. I don’t see it as a huge deal and would like it back but idk if that’s happening… With a F2P model, I’m thinking they’re trying to keep it as inclusive for all audiences as possible. It would be nice to have an initial setup option for blood and gore to enable or disable though.

There’s blood in the game, but yeah blood splatter staying on the groubd seems to be missing. I think this is more to conserve resources, though, than it is a restriction. This game has to run on the One, remember?

I think 343i views blood as not fitting in the current Halo style. MP? Maybe, but in campaign it can definitely add something to the immersion.

Really what this post is about is having blood decals that appear after shooting an unshielded target. While I do feel they add to the atmosphere of gameplay and to certain kinds of scenes. Them not being there isn’t really a huge issue IMO.

To me, it’s not the end of the world of blood splatter isn’t there. But given the choice, I’d definitely prefer to have it included. Especially in campaign.

343 chose not to focus on blood. It doesn’t have anything to do with the hardware. Halo CEA displays it just fine. It’s simple a design choice.

That’s it.

I hope for so much blood as it is possible with that rating.

I would don’t mind to send my freakin Passport/ID to enable more gore for the mature crowd xD

Why is it such a big deal to have blood? Its not game breaking…

for some people, it helps with the immersion of combat. Having there been carnage that remains after a battle gives some people more connection to the event. I also see the other side of that stance that it only adds decals and it really isn’t a required thing. I like having some blood decals because it up the immersion, but ultimately it’s an artistic decision and I don’t have a strong feeling either way.

Really hope they do it in eventually even if it’s optional via an update so people can choose to play it like classic Halo.

Yes! I would give Halo Infinite as much as blood there is in H2A, for both splashes and remains in the environment

I agree with the sentiment. I disagree that it should be a priority. It was fun back in the days of CE when you could paint the walls. The novelty wore off quick. Now I find myself actually playing the game. Especially in multiplayer. Not admiring something as minor as in-game effects. Let alone the blood splatter.

Honestly, blood splatter adds nothing to the game for me. This is of course subjective, but the splatter we get now in infinite is enough for me. Everything else is just pointless.

The main argument for it is that it can make the game have a darker tone. My counter to that is that bright blue blood and purple blood doesn’t make a game darker.

It doesn’t make the game darker, I agree, but painting the walls with alien blood is pretty damn fun.

CoD is rated M and does just fine with a F2P model so

I guess we have different definitions of fun lol

I disagree entirely. Blood in a Halo game creates atmosphere, can help tell the story by elevating stakes, and makes the gameplay feel more visceral. On the level ‘343 Guilty Spark’ in Halo CE – Covenant blood decals were used heavily to communicate “something bad happened here” to the audience, which was a great setup for the Flood before you ever saw them and absolutely made the game darker.

In general, Halo is about an interstellar war and wars are bloody. I can see an argument against stacking decals to keep multiplayer at an optimal frame rate, but no reason to keep it out of Campaign when used for the purposes above.

100x this.

I always feel like an old man when this subject is brought up because evidently these whipper snappers don’t remember the classics at all. Blood and even mild gore was part of Halo’s DNA throughout all of Bungie’s time with it. Halo used to have a bit of groundedness to it and that’s sorely missing in Infinite, which is way more arcade-ey to me.
