Gernades- why not a one bounce explosion?!

Really loving the beta truly I am but I do not understand why the gernade is allowed 3-4 bounces before exploding. Probably because we have thrusters now but it’s really frustrating when you thruster away from the grenade yet you still get killed because it bounces so so so much. What’s the point then? Also why do stickies feel so use less? I haven’t gotten one stick but I’ve gotten kills with it.

Love the weapons though please don’t change that <3

CONCLUSION: make the grenade a bounce explosion like the original titles it just worked better.

I was wondering about that too. On one hand I like the new nades but on the other hand, sometimes my nade deaths make no sense due to the nade bouncing so much.

Literally every time I spawn I am killed by a grenade spam.

Yeah I’ve never been a fan of extremely bouncy grenades. One bounce allows for far greater accuracy with throws.

I’m glad I’m not the only one. What I really dislike is I used to bounce a made on the floor and have it explode and head shot the enemy now you cannot do this. I felt that was a very Halo thing to do, that was in all the trilogies. Might not be a big deal but the fact is please fix the grenades 343!.

You seem to not be aware of CE frag grenades. CE frags did not activate their fuse till they stopped bouncing.

Currently I am not noticing much I do not like about the current 'nade situation beyond the maps being such that I get spawn’naded not by intent, but because I am spawning so close to my teammates already engaged in a room.

I haven’t noticed grenades bouncing too many time. What I have noticed is the fuse after hitting something is a lot longer than in previous Halo games. I can’t count how many times I missed a grenade because it didn’t explode when I was expecting it to after a bounce. I think the fuse after bounces should be about half of what it is now. Maybe a little less, but not any more than that.

I’ll admit I didn’t think of CE. But it seems even CE nades bounce 2-3 times MAX, I’ll have to hop oN MCC to refresh

Yep CE is around a 3 bounce. But I feel like CE is a bit irrelevant to use as the online community for CE was not as large as halo 3 was back in the day and was arguably more successful. (No disrespect to CE AT ALL IMHO Halo CE revolutionized console gaming)

Right there with you. Spent a great deal of time perfecting the bounce, but it isn’t there anymore.

I agree wholeheartedly. Grenades as they are at the moment seem to be rather off. They seem to be harder to use effectively, but also much easier to die from them since they’ll bounce further than they did before.

That, and Plasma Grenades are essentially useless at the moment. I rarely ever see people get stuck with them anymore, thanks to the new movement mechanics.

Seems like a lot of us have, please bring this back 343! I watched a kill cam the other day (sometimes I watch the kill cam okay don’t judge me lol) and saw a grenade bounce off a wall 3 times falling behind me a killing me and just sat there like…bruh.

I would beg to differ, as I have had a nice handful of sticky kills, and have been stuck a small handful of times.

I’d love to see Halo: CE grenade physics in this beta. The grenade splash is big enough for the amount of mobility and agility that Spartans have now.

Well considering their fuse doesn’t start until they bounce off whatever the game considers the ground, it would make sense that they bounce a lot if used properly. I haven’t had any problems bouncing at enemies coming around the corner and headshotting them.

Yeah, I like one bounce more because I started throwing grenades across the whole map on Crossfire/the other map and I got 1 kill every couple of games. Plus, one bounce just feels like it’s more fun.

It is a one bounce explosion (bounce off floor then detonate, just like always) but the timer between bounce and explosion is longer so they can bounce off walls too.

I would prefer a shorter latency period between bounce and detonation. They feel off too me, especially with the new mechanics making escape easier.

Yes so grenades can be easier to use. Who cares if these instantnades takes zero skills. Let’s shorten the fuse even further so bad players like you won’t have to time your nades.

I’m all for making the game more noob friendly.

This is by far the worst thread I ever read on this site.

Nades are already so nub friendly and you scrubs want to make it even more so. WTF?

The fuse is so short, it explode in midair(unlike cec where it had to land. Requires you to actually time your grenades)

I really can’t believe what I just read in this thread.

Most of you aren’t making much sense. You complain that the nades are “easier to use,” but also complain that the nades take too long to detonate.
If the nades take longer to detonate, you should be a whole lot better at moving from the blast radius. So, this in fact widens the skill gap even more. Unlike the comment from the dip sh*t above me says.

I, personally, don’t like how long it takes for the nades to explode now, but I believe it’s just because I dislike change. With how amazing this game is, I’m trusting 343 has it’s reasons for the longer detonation timing, so it’s not bothering me too much.
