gernade toss

343, in halo 3 and odst, chucking nades felt like you were a handicaped 85 year old, reach u felt like u throw with power and accuracy… lets keep it like that.

… Are you kidding me, in Halo2/3 you could throw a grenade halfway across the map, In Reach your lucky to get across the section your in. If you want power behind the throw you are going to want a Halo 2/3 Grenade. When we get to accuracy, Halo 2/3 had a specific learning curve for grenades where you had to know a little about the angle you were throwing at to get your accurate throws.

In 2/3 it was I’ll advised to throw whenever as you wanted to wait for that perfect moment because your grenades weren’t mini nukes.

I agree with Killer Rin on the first paragraph. However, grenades in Reach have only a slightly larger blast radius than in Halo 3. Otherwise, they are no more powerful than Halo 2 or 3’s.

I just wish I didn’t suck major butt at throwing grenades.

Admittedly though, nuclear bombs do have quite large blast radiuses as well, thus making the term “mini nuke” quite appropriate.

They are no more powerful than Halo 3 grenades, sure.

But Halo 3 grenades do not work with Halo Reach’s health system. In Halo 3, your health recharged so grenades do not seem to insta-kill you. I think that’s why grenades in Reach seem so much more effective.

Again, the radius increase is pretty small, and the over all power of the grenade was not tampered with.

Um, no.

People don’t complain about Reachs grenades being insanely overpowered for no reason.

Larger blast radius. Damage doesn’t get reduced as much at range. You cannot jump or move away from a grenades blast radius and they are pathetically easy to throw.

Reachs grenades are overpowered and should NOT return. Halo 3s grenades where perfect.

i agree keep the reach throw and radius etc.

This! In Halo 3 you couldn’t get killed with 8/10 of your shield and in Halo Reach you could nearly die with 9/10 of your shield. Halo Reach grenade’s are way overpowered they are little nukes, like someone said it before

The problem with 2/3 throwing mechanics wasn’t the distance but the angle! He throws it at an angle lower than the reticle, which is incredibly annoying. I prefer the Reach throwing angle (actually, really prefer the CE throwing angle).

1: The blast radius is slightly larger in reach
2: Halo 3’s gernades were significantly harder to aim due to the bounce they had.
3: I think (not 100% sure) that the fusetime is faster
4: Im pretty sure you “recover” faster from a gernade throw in reach faster than you did in halo 3, although it may just seem that way due to slow kill times.

I want it to be like Halo 3 for throwing grenades. In Reach, your Spartan lobs it. Not as bad as ODST where they just sorta hold their arm out softly and let it go for about 2 meters. -_-, but still…lobbish.

In Halo 3, the Spartans really chucked that grenade with strength and accuracy.

i was talking bout the toss not the gernade itself people and IMO the reach gernade toss felt better than halo 3, cant even remember halo2’s but i didint know that i was outnumbered this severly, srry =)

Really, I’ll just prefer any throw that throws it with the angle in or a bit below the reticle. If it is above, it just throws me off. Something to do with my eyes, how I myself can see see better right below my line of sight than right above my line of sight.

Someone said to me when I was playing Reach, “Well look a bit above your reticle and your grenade wouldn’t have killed me! rageragerage”, and of course I said sorry for it, but taking your eyes off the reticle is a bad mistake, because if the enemy comes out of cover at that second he has the advantage.

Are YOUUUUUUUUUUUUU kidding me?!?! Go play Halo 1 and tell me grenade throwing in Halo 2 and Halo 3 is fine! I CANNOT BELIEVE so many people liked that ignorant post!

This community man… I SWEAR…

That would be like saying the AR is overpowered.
Why? BECAUSE EVERYONE STARTS WITH THEM.

This.

It’s so freaking hard to get grenade sticks in Reach. And even if you do get a stick, what difference does it make if the Elite survives it?

I almost ended up leaving a thanks to that post. Thanks for the reminder!

In H1, throwing grenades was fast (I could start shooting or reloading right after it), getting sticks felt rewarding because how Elites were always on the move, and getting AI caught between 2 plasma grenades was my favorite tactic (it’s now non-existent due to the detonation timer). I also enjoyed using plasma grenades for grenade jumping. Now it’s too dangerous, even on Easy. Also, in H2 and H3, the AI just stand there (being the damage sponges that they are) or dive around too much. In Reach, they’re just too fast.

Anyone who began or stuck with H1 knows where I’m going with this. CE FTW.

There is nothing right with the Halo 2/3 grenade throw.
