George's death was dumb

Was replaying halo reach on legendary and after I finished the long night of solace 3 of my marines were still alive, but when I finished the mission they just disappeared, if they were still alive why wouldn’t they just activate the slipspace drive instead letting the supersoldier survive?

first off its Jorge not george, and I think in canon Jorge and six were the only two humans left alive and all those marines died, plus Jorge was born on reach and the LNoS was the only covie super carrier near Reach as far as he knew so he thought he sacrifice would save reach, carter mentions this in the cutscene at the end of New Alexandria “Jorge gave his life thinking he had just saved the planet we should consider ourselves lucky” something like that and emile responds “ah the big man was sentimental always said he’d never leave reach” even had the marines been alive Jorge out of pride would not have allowed someone else to sacrifice them self.

Finally, someone who appreciates Jorge’s death! Good job pointing out the spelling error, it took me a minute to realize that George isn’t the same as Jorge.

IMO, all members of Noble team had relatively stupid deaths. None of them make a lot of sense.

I thought Kat’s was dumb at first but, It was meant to show how luck plays a role in war, one second you are alive they next you are dead. Emile got outnumbered by zealots, though he probably could have shot that phantom with the mac gun, unless the phantom was flying below the cliff and he didn’t see it. Carter might have been able to jump out of the pelican in time and still take out the scarab, but he was wounded pretty bad.

It was in vane, He thought it was only a ship, but he didn’t thought about an entire Covenant fleet coming over Reach. Well, like Carter said, he thought he died saving Reach. Yes, we suck.

Troopers obviously died in the fight like Marines at the end of The Pillar of Autumn but they would be unable to land on the planet like Noble Six did I think, it’s not like he made it in one piece, you start with less health than usual.

  • Kat’s death is all wrong, I don’t how people easily go with the idea of the shield being disabled, this game lack the beam rifle and the actual needle in the cutscene don’t stop at the head like in the gameplay.

Jorge is IMO a top five best Spartan ever. His honor along with his sacrifice to save reach put him on top shelf with Chief. Reach is a far superior game then halo 5 … Noble team beats out chiefs blue team and lockes team. IMO

Nope. Every Spartan of the Noble Team died except Jun. Blue Team and Fireteam Osiris survived without any problems.

Someone should of died in halo 5 but no 343 refuses to go past this kid friendly PG rated Story progression. Halo wars 2 should of had a Spartan death but nope they brought the injured Spartan back after like 2 missions… No risk or anything serious ever happens.

Isn’t that the canon explanation for Kat’s deah? I heard it somewhere and it was about something that an EMP device deactivated her shielding system, leaving her vulnerable to a headshot. I’m not entirely sure, please correct me if I’m wrong.
But what I think it’s stupid is the fact that, she wears armor completely made out of titanium, which is immune to ballistic rounds, and yes, I’m aware that the Needle Rifle doesn’t exactly fire ballistic rounds, but it appears to act the same. However I also noticed that, the exact location where the shot landed appears to be “burned”, which might implicate that the rounds are just as hot as plasma, for some reason?!
I got a little confused, so correct any wrong information. Thanks.

After a quick look at Halo Nation and Halopedia, I found no evidence of stuff that disabled the shield systrm but WikiHalo says otherwise, how weird…

I don’t think blamite is hot, it’s likely cold like a crystal should be and maybe the game was supposed to have the beam rifle, the needle going through the head is way too “big” to be serious and make the explosive side of blamite useless.
And :

> In the Halo: Reach Legendary Commentary, Bungie stated there was an originally going to be a level in between New Alexandria and The Package, in which the player had to navigate a Scarab through the ruins of New Alexandria.

The game isn’t exactly like it was supposed to be anyway, the real reason is nowhere to be found after this.

In all fairness noble team thought that destroying the cruiser would end the assault on reach. Jorge had to sacrifice himself, there was no other way to activate the bomb.

You are right but I’m gonna fix your quote.
Jun: Jeorge always said he’d never leave Reach.
Emile: Haha, ah big man was sentimental.
Carter: He gave his life thinking he just saved the planet, we should all be so lucky.
