The best ping you yourself can get, for yourself, in your own situation.
Others can have lower ping.
Players looking out for themselves are an issue.
Players ensuring they’re not dragging teams on other continents down with low performance due to high ping are an issue.
i343 not explaining how geo-filtering cause high ping in MM is apparently not an issue?
Geo-filtering suddenly, after a HCS mock up, becomes an issue after players having used it extensively before, even in Halo 5 prior to its Region settings got implemented.
So in what way is it a hack or mod? I’d call it a setting.
Is turning the brightness up on the TV a hack / mod?
Its not an in game setting. Its a workaround that is not intended in game, but I wont tread down this road again today. Well just have to wait for anticheat, and for 343 to fix their systems which are clearly a problem.
So, increasing the brightness on the TV / Screen is a hack then.
Max game settings for brightness doesn’t come near the same as max brightness on both game and Screen.
I absolutely love it.
Gamers have a way of making their gaming experience more reliable and smoother. A general QoL DIY update, aaaaaand it’s cheating.
“If I won’t bother doing it, you sure can’t get something nice either”
Of course you won’t.
You’ve been told everything already and still go down the same path.
There’s no argument as to how personal settings suddenly impact connections they have no access to, at all.
So you can “safely” fall back on what extremely little i343 has said and take their word for it.
Just like the first DLC they released and the massive horsemanuer storm that conjured up, was actually, a day later, a marketing campaign which lasted for a short while.
Or the first global tournament they had.
You know, the 4v4 one with a car prize, and the SpOps one with a Cameo in Halo 5. Rules so loose the winner of the SpOps tournament wasn’t banned but had played an insane amount of SpOps matches, so much so there could literally not have been any breaks for four weeks straight, and abusing glitches through and through, from first day to last. Yet others in that category got banned left and right.
Intentionally ensuring that you have the best in a match isn’t what geo filter does though so by your own definition it can’t be “cheating”. All geo filter does is ensure you connect to servers within a specified region (ie local servers) so it is a lower ping than being connected to servers thousands of miles away. If there are players closer to your local server than you are then they will have a lower ping than you…and similarly if you are closer than someone else, because that’s how ping works! Again, if you don’t have issue with “lesser” ping then you can’t have an issue with geo filter.
Obviously region lock and geo filter aren’t in the game, but geo filter is essentially a setting identical to region lock. Also it is not a mod/hack…it is a software feature that can be enabled on many routers (or alternatively servers addresses can be blocked on your PC or console). The only issue you seem to have is that it isn’t an in game feature at the moment (like it is on MCC and hundreds of other titles) so because of that you conclude that it is “cheating” despite countless times you’ve been involved that it doesn’t give you an unfair in game advantage such as the likes of wall hacks, aimbot or rapid fire (and for clarity, geo filter doesn’t even give you or guarantee that you have the best ping in the game as other players may be closer to the server).
