I’ve gone through quite a few threads about wanting a phaeton in BTB. I’m sure some of you have too, so I think I might have found a solution to this.
A Genesis Themed map. Just think about it. There would be enough cover for troops, Promethean weapons, and a Phaeton in the middle. Most of the placed weapons would be Promethean, but there would probably be some UNSC and covenant weapons scattered from place to place because after all, a battle just took place here. The only land vehicles would Ghosts, Wraiths, and a Tank. The Phaeton would be placed on one of those Forerunner bridges (not a light bridge,) slightly arching up to make room for a Tank underneath the normal bridge on a light bridge. Gameplay wise, the players would spawn on either side of the map and have to race to the center to get the Phaeton and Tank. If they wanted to get there faster they could grab a Ghost and speed ahead. The Wraiths and Warthogs would spawn in the back of the map, similar to the armory of vehicles found on Dispelled. This map would also have lots of crashed Covenant vehicles that could blow up like in the campaign. The splinter turrets would only be in the CTF version of this map by each team’s base as a defensive weapon. A list of weapons on this map would look like this:
Plasma Pistol (x2) - Covenant Carbine (x4) - Battle Rifle (x2) (Recon Scope) - DMR (x2) (Recon Scope) - Echnida (x2) (With 3 shots in it) - Hydra (x3) - Spartan Laser (x1) - Fury (x1) - Boltshot (x4) - Lightrifle (x2) - Scattershot (x1) - Incineration Cannon (x1) - Beam Rifle (x2) - Binary Rifle (x1) - Suppressor (x3) (Song of Peace) - Damaged Energy Sword (x1) (50%) - Needler (x2) - Mounted Plasma Turret - Mounted Splinter TurretAnd a list of vehicles fit for this map would look like this:
Phaeton (x1) - Ghost (x2) (Ultra) - Scorpion (x1) - Wraith (x2) (Ultra) - Warthog (2x) (Rally)A few powerups on this map wouldn’t hurt either:
Active Camo 1 (x1) - Overshield 2 (x1)Tell me what you think about this! I might have overdone it with the weapons but that’s why I shared this, to get your opinions and feedback on it. I’d be on board with it man, I’ve been wanting a Genesis themed map for ages now. We already got Sanghelios and Meridian so I think Genesis would be a nice addition. And you have some pretty solid weapon/vehicle ideas for the map, you’ve clearly put a lot of thought into this and I think thats excellent man!
I would love a Genesis themed map, that sounds awesome. However, I think your weapons and vehicles on the map could definitely use some work. I don’t think there should be Ultra vehicles on any BTB map, and three snipers and a incineration cannon is a little much.

Thanks man, although I put this out for 343i to read and for the community judge. Really feels good to have someone say that this would be a good map.

Ya, I thought about this (obviously not enough) and added the echidna to counter it. Anything you think I should do to help change it? It was supposed to look similar to the area when you come out of the room when Exuberant Witness gives you the scorpion. Thanks for the feedback!
A Genesis themed map would end up being a small 4v4 / 5v5 experience or a Warzone battleground if 343i made it, since they’re not handcrafting any BTB maps - just Arena and Warzone ones. In either case though, I’d love to see a map set on Genesis. It’s one of the few tilesets that we haven’t seen something from yet.
That being said, I’ve been longing to see them make a BTB map from the ground up like the Arena and Warzone ones have been. It’d be cool if they did so, maybe one set on Genesis as you suggested but wow is that weapon/vehicle sandbox overpowered there! Nooooo Ultras on the map, please just no. Leave those in Warzone xD
I’d replace the Echidna with a Spartan Laser perhaps, and definitely no Ultra vehicles
They seem to be reusing campaign assets and there’s a noticeable lack of forerunner maps in general. Seems quite likely we ll get an arena and or Warzone map. Remembering it’s a simulation we might also get one set in the Domain; reuse assets from the Breaking?
I saw an insane Genesis themed BTB forge map a while ago. It was featured on Unsorted Gaming’s YouTube channel. I thought it look really cool and I would totally make a 2v2 map with this style if I had any skill with forge and could figure out how the creator made it.
make it mostly forerunner weps with a couple unsc thrown in maybe… also, using certain req weps could balance things out like razor’s edge replacing potential needlers.
as far as anti vehicle reqs are concerned, incineration cannons work well yes? maybe a rocket and 1 incinerator spawn each
I wonder if since they added the big covenant boss with the Sanghelios maps (Mercy, Temple, Temple Assault) that they will add a new Promethean boss with maps themed around Genesis? It is one of the cooler things they have done for sure.

Totally agree; If 343 did anything, I would love for them to craft a genesis map for BTB. Right now the only Genesis map we have is Coliseum, and I’ve been hoping they would throw a remix out that was asymmetrical, but since everyone complains about remixes I’m afraid it won’t happen. Also, I agree that there should be no Ultra Vehicles.
Here is the only Forge map I’ve seen that tries to capture it, and I think they did a great job. It’s called Leyline. It would be even better if the Forge Team gave us these pieces!
