I’m trying to get better, and at least hit diamond tier. My placement matches put me in gold 6, only one win bumped up up to platinum. I don’t really know what that says about my skill, if anything, but I’m starting to struggle a lot now. I’ll lose a couple rounds, then win one or maybe two. A few specific questions I have are:
Do you think anyone could get much further without assembling a team? I’m not that great with vocal communication honestly… I’m a quiet person.
Should I bump the sensitivity up a bit? I’ve heard people say it’s absolutely necessary and others say it hurts you.
Is using smart link worth it, or just a waste of time that’ll get me killed? Probably a dumb question but I think it’s worth asking.
Some tips if you’re playing competitive Swat. So, if you rank gold 6 after the placement matches that means that your true skill is plat 6. As for your sensitivity, I don’t know where it’s at now, but you want to keep it low and have acceleration a bit higher(you will have to find that out on your own, but I would use 3). In higher ranked play you won’t use smart-link you just get killed I’ve found myself dying a whole lot less not using smart-link. If you’re playing dmrs or H2BRs then use the scope more often I find it helpful. You also want to move around the map fast to make yourself a hard target and if you can crouch a lot in case someone across the map spotted you and you don’t know. Thrust is important, once you are in an engagement use it. If there are two players kill one use thrust and kill the other one. If there are three kill two use thrust kill the last one. If there are four, well you know the pattern I’ve found this helpful. Also, you can spray the H2BR if there are two players side by side usually you can shoot once and move the reticle while the weapon is shooting and kill both. And you should always assume a player is around every corner you turn. Listen to gunshots and look at you teammates service tags and if you see them die you know the enemy is there.
