General thoughts on new update

Because then you open the floodgates to millions of people who can now hack with abandon and just create new, free accounts to keep doing it. MCC at least has the benefit of cross-play, so if the PC player-base gets filled to burst with hackers, then console can turn off cross-play.

Shame PC doesn’t have the same benefit to get rid of hackers.

Small undocumented change:

I’m pretty sure they increased the font size of the HUD indicators in Halo: CE. Haven’t tested the others.

Edit: Disregard. I missed this in the patch notes.

Text in the upper left corner of the Heads-Up Display (HUD) is now larger.

Oh I’ll miss this quirk. :frowning:

  • Some weapon elements like Shotgun shells are no longer visible when cloaked with Anniversary graphics enabled.

And how many of those games you listed STARTED as F2P games? I know for a fact CSGO wasn’t always free.

honestly, the poses aren’t all that bad. i’m just happy to be able to see peoples spartans/elites after each match

I’d like a randomized video option for the video selector. Can’t decide…so good… <3

i absolutely hate the end game thing when it shows players now. nobody really cares about the top performers of the game and i doubt anybody even wants to see that show up. it now forces me to back out so i dont have to see any of that.
is there a toggle hidden somewhere to change that from showing up?
the menus could have stayed the same since there was nothing wrong with them.
idk what else changed but im now worried about mcc.
it used to be a safe place to escape the nightmare that is infinite and now its being slowly transformed in a bad way.

Only 3 players per post match screen… unfortunately

And interestingly I never saw the community asking for this feature.

The long list of requested changes grows, but here we get a random “feature”.

yeah, after some thought, i could care less about the endgame poses. i don’t hate them, but i wish we were able to see everybody’s spartan, not just some of the winners

The only thing people wanted from what I saw, was to be able to use the Halo 4 Stances in place of/alongside the avatars for preservation.

Instead, they made it exceptionally awkward in the UI, used their own custom poses instead of Halo 4’s Stances or even the bare minimum that is Halo 3’s alert carry poses, and timegated everything behind the exchange. Literally everything they could do to make them as unappealing as possible to everyone.

They could have easily shrunk our spartans to fit everyone or tallest spartan is number 1 smallest is last, seeing how nice infinites poses are im supprised these arent up to par

A totally unnecessary addition.

I think everything in the update sounds cool, though a bit mixed on endgame poses (I think I can live without those), I do want Reach Elite Customization to arrive to MCC as soon as possible.

But honestly, the one thing I badly want 343 to NOT do is add microtransactions to The Master Chief Collection. That is the one thing I don’t want them to do AT ALL. They shouldn’t even be considering adding MTX to MCC to begin with given it’s not even a Free to Play game, and it is remasters of old games that never had MTX in the first place.

Plus, may I remind you fellows of 343’s previous statement that Halo MCC would never get progression system microtransactions:
“First, we’re happy to say that Halo: Reach in MCC will in fact have the same level of “mix and match” customization found in the original games (all the individual armor pieces, etc…). As to how it’s earned, we are exploring a new and deeper progression system that retains the feel of the old systems and blends them with newer models for game progression (all based on in-game play, no type of monetization or anything of that nature )” - Quote from Ske7ch on a Reddit AMA prior to Halo Reach flighting on PC (https://www.reddit.com/r/gaming/comments/b2yhk8/mcc_pc_halo_reach_and_halo_insider_ama/).

Them adding MTX to MCC would only further make them look even more bad than they already were before.

You are right but remember, we were originally talking about how making the MCC multiplayer parts of the game f2p could be beneficial to the game and its community, the discussion then drifted onto Infinite’s f2p model…

I have a feeling they broke Halo Reach Visuals while trying to bring back the lighting bloom. Has anyone here booted up Reach after the update? mine looks all smeared now, can barely see the details in the environments.
