General thoughts on new update

I like it. Finally able to switch the menu theme, enhanced UI, new (even some of the weird) content for H2A MP, reworked challenges . I had more then 300 points now I can spend them. I hope H2A multiplayer get more populated a bit.
About the microtransaction madness. If they allow it for MCC I just hope they do in this way: they add option to buy specific number of Spartan Points and that’s all. No shop, no new stuff or shop or anything. Just give the option to pick-up SP for new players. But better if they skip it. Give us points till we reach the max rank. At least give us a reason to max out.

Personally I hoped Spartan Ops matchmaker or Workshop, but one day they add them.

I’m looking forward to it. The thing I’m most excited about is the option to change the background.

I hope the original 2014 menu and updated menu preceding Reach’s addition are included.

Oh - I mentioned that directly in the thread, you may not have read it.

I really like the UI overhauls and the ability to pick your background.
Being someone who plays with all the new armors and skins toggled off, I was dreading the original post-game pose thing, but I really like that its limited to the carnage report, I feel like that’s a great way to do it, hope it stays that way.

Know its a big task, but would still love to see offline bots for the multiplayers, maybe Halo 3 at very least one day.

Wish we got any word on Steam Workshop but great update otherwise!

I’m worried 343 is gonna pull yet another “We understand what the majority of the playerbase wants but we know better than you” and just put MTX in MCC anyway despite the backlash.

Alright, I got my connect V2 sensor set up and I’m trying to figure out head tracking. For Mark VI VR helmets.

There are so many ways that 343 could make the grind for experience points and “Spartan” Points so much easier. They could bring back Campaign experience points. I remember when we used have Campaign exp. before the official challenge system/exchange was implemented. Here’s the scaling I’d like to see.

25,000 Exp-Easy
50,000 Exp-Normal
100,000 Exp-Heroic
200,000 Exp-Legendary
400,000 Exp-Legendary; All Scoring Skulls On

It’s just such an easy thing to do and put in. And I think players would very much enjoy having more opportunities to earn experience points once MCC gets to the point where there isn’t enough of a playerbase to maintain a robust online PvP experience.

It would also inspire players to push themselves on harder difficulties outside their comfort zones, and likely help them improve their campaign skill set for challenges. High Risk, High Reward as the saying goes.

I understand that the suggested exp scaling wouldn’t affect seasonal progression, so I had written in another forum earlier about how 343 could make it easier to earn “Spartan" Points from the challenges (God I wish they would just call them “Halo Points.” There’s no need to be so prejudiced against Elites).

Anyways, I know that every week there are 6 “Gold” challenges that currently earn 1 season point per completion, and an addition 7 “Blue” challenges that earn a variety of experience points. This applies to both PvP and PvE.

If 343 can make it so that all of the “Gold” challenges earn 2 points and all of the “Blue” challenges earn 1 point it would a relatively small change But when you add it all up, that allows players to earn a total from 12 points all the way up to 38 points a week. That would incredibly player friendly.

Also, doubling the amount of experience points earned through challenges would also be player friendly and would be incredibly helpful with progression.

CE:A was hyped up pretty hard at launch, those criticisms came fair bit later last I checked. But also, they are correct criticisms.

Regardless, Saber Interactive really does just exist to finish things or have stuff outsourced to them. I don’t know why Halo fans just… Do this? Why they decide that Saber Interactive is so great even though they REALLY do just exist as a finish-it-to-ship-it-and-extra-workforce-studio. Like they do good work but… They ain’t primary devs.

Agreed I would also like to see the bandana skull in Halo 4 and Halo Reach as well

I’m glad that we are still getting updates to the game, but I feel this one fell short. I was hoping that they would have followed the current trend that they have set and have added the remaining maps from halo online.

You’re in a thread titled ‘General thoughts on new update’ and you didn’t read the article. The post states that bandana is being added to Reach.

Because faith in 343 is so low right now after H4 and 5 that people are willing to trust the Halo remasters or development to other companies like Saber or CA to make a Halo game. Because god knows if 343 is gonna turn a remastered game into H5.

Not… Sure why they would.

I’ve made several threads not only explaining how much I DO NOT WANT MTX IN MCC but how 343 could add new ways to get points in MCC without the abuse of MTX.

If 343 chooses to ignore the community on this one I don’t think anything they do from that point on would be able to regain the players confidence, even in the MCC team, and right now 343 CAN NOT afford another PR Nightmare like Infinite has been.

Tbh I don’t give a damn about micro-transaction for cosmetics but maybe they should make all of the collection’s games multiplayer part f2p so that it brings new players to the table, also if that micro-transaction money allows them to keep on with supporting the game or increase the pace of it as long as NOTHING is locked behind paying money I’m ok with it…

NO, no, no, no, no, no a quintillion times NO! F2p is BAD for Halo, case and point look how fast it killed Infinite.

I have to agree with the F2P, I don’t think it would do the MCC any good, I can however see how MTX on the season points could work. I don’t care for them either as I have no intention of ever using them, I imagine they would be targeted more towards the Fortnite/ infinite crowd that is used to paying to progress.

I just feel there isn’t enough content to justify it in regards to unlocks, especially the exchange store.

You should.

That’s all I’ll say.

True. Cosmetic microtransactions are the worst kind because then when we have them, we get games like Infinite, half-baked, unfinished, overly monetized greedy garbage.
