So this may be a dumb question but I just wanted to get everyones opinion, so I tend to watch a number of the pro players on Twitch when they stream and noticed something during some of their ranked matches they play. It seems like if one team has one or more players drop out of the game or quit then both teams basically stop slaying out and just let the full team take the win and move on. Its almost like in these higher ranks of Onyx that they all understand its pointless and not fair to keep slaying out in a lopsided match and just try to move on to the next as quick as possible. Is this kind of like an unspoken understand between higher ranked players and just a general respect thing to stop going full sweaty just to pad your stats for the game?
The main reason I ask is because I recently had a ranked slayer match where the other team got a decent lead pretty quick and two people on my team dropped out so it was a 2v4, at that point I was thinking to myself well we should just hand the win over and move on so I was just going to go sit in a corner, not fight back and just let the timer expire. I would have thought that once the other team realized the match was lopsided and I was not fighting back that there would be the same kind of respect you see in the higher ranks but NOPE. Literally standing still these guys would run up to me throwing grenades, start shooting, and strafing hard…at a still player who wasn’t shooting back, I just laughed to myself watching these people still going full sweaty against someone who isn’t fighting back, but anyway to wrap this up if there is a general understand and respect among the higher ranks it definitely doesn’t exist at the lower ranks where I am at, they continue to go full sweaty and stat padding.
