General Feedback on the game so far & fiesta specifically

I’d Like to start this off with Halo Infinite has a lot of potential to be a GREAT game but there are some issues I’ve found and feedback I’d like to give from my first 100 games.

1. Please make the challenges good for all game modes & Bot Bootcamp.
I want to enjoy Halo. In my case I’m not overly good at shooters anymore. I no longer have the 10 hours of free time I did in my youth to practice. This has resulted in me playing game modes I don’t enjoy for hours to try to grind out the “Win 2 Slayer Matches” style challenges. I’ve loved halo for a long time but I’m averaging a 2/13 KDA and pulling down the team of people who WANT to play against other players.

2. I wish we had some way of separating the highly skilled from the casual players.
This one I know is a far reach but I don’t see why someone who makes this their living playing 15 hours a day earning a 5.0 KDR should be wrecking and yelling insults at someone who can maybe scrounge 4 hours total a day. On the other side I’m sure the 5.0 isn’t thrilled to be pulling my .03 and potentially losing because of it. It really drains the fun from your game

3. Fiesta RPG/Swords
Specifically Fiesta. I can predict which team will win with 100% accuracy based on which team got a rocket or sword first. In ranked you get 2 rockets and it’s done the same should apply here. Swords are wildly inconsistent where my reticle turns red and I can’t lunge but someone else can lunge around walls. I’m not sure how to fix that but would like it just looked in to.

4. Ranking In Events
Why do we need to complete specific challenges to rank these up? I get 3 weeks total to get 30 levels. I get 7 event challenges in that time. that means, best case scenario, I will be a level 21 and the event will be gone. If we want to keep that system, why not make the 2xp apply here? Complete an event challenge while 2xp is on and get 2 levels. It would really help.

5. Ranking Up In General
I know this is being addressed so I won’t put too much into this one. Specifically an increase to XP for completing matches and maybe a +50 if you win. This might help with what I’ve been seeing which is players, Enemy and Friendly, Playing for 30 seconds then AFKing for 2 minutes. Since there’s no real reason to try just being there is getting them the same XP as players that are trying and working as a team.

If anyone else has Ideas and feedback besides “Just get good” I’d appreciate feedback from the community as well as devs

This wasn’t during infinite, but during mcc. I “returned” to gaming after my kids got a little older and I had more free time. Thought I could boot up halo and it would be just like the old times. NOPE. These are the two biggest things that helped me improve my overall game:

First thing I did was improve my aim/aiming technique. I completed the achievement where you have to kill 1000 skirmishers. 10 mins a sitting I’d practice against these slippery bird men to warm up, focussing on just making sure to get hits, then when I felt confident moved to headshots.

Next you can practice during almost any game type: learn how to move around the map. This means anticipating spawns, know where your teammates are and what they are doing, learning when to run away, and learning when to stand your ground. At first keep it simple and stay alive. Do your best to shadow a teammate and basically tackle encounters with two people. If they die, gtfo and back to the safety of your squad. I found once I was able to stay alive for longer, then the rest fell into place. I was able to practice ideas like holding power weapon spawns, sprees, and even taking on more then one person at a time.

Make no mistake this took some serious time. I’m talking months before I got used to it again. But oh man if you’re in it for the long haul it’s alot more fun. I now even appreciated getting bested by a more skilled player as I know I can learn from them. Anyways I hope this helps. Shoot an invite/look for a group as well. Playing together makes a big difference
