General feed back from the first hour of play.

So far having played the game a bit I’ve noticed a few things about the weapons and interactions with said weapons, mainly the unbalanced nature.

The biggest issue I’ve seen so far is the melee spam exploit, those who remember the old BxR from Halo 2 know what I’m referring to. I’ve played several matches where as soon as I would get into close quarters with another player they would proceed to exploit the melee and kill me before I could react. Considering Melee is a 2 hit kill it needs to be addressed swiftly and without mercy.

The BR does very poorly in the damage department. Three bursts to another Spartans head to either barely kill or just drop his shields when the Assault Rifle is a much better shield draining alternative. Yes the Noob Combo is still alive and well but it’s not at all viable with how the maps are laid out, though I think this is a good thing.

Over-shields, oh how they’ve mascaraed my boy. Underbalanced and a poor choice to put it as an equipment, sure if you’re fighting one on one with another person you have a good edge but past that you’re dead meat. Along with it not being a pickup and being worthless against multiple people the shield slowly expires. This change is horrible for the balance of it as if you use it on pick-up and can’t find anyone to fight you’ll be lucky to have half of the shield by time you engage someone. If you include how slow it is to activate it is nearly unusable in most situations.

The Gravity Hammer, when it can kill you in one hit with near full over-shields in one hit that should tell you how broken it is. When it can kill you with one hit from a warthog’s length away from you that should let you know it’s a problem. On top of the energy reserves it has as a person on an opposing team swung it more than 20 times should be another indicator of it needing to be fixed.

Now the final problem I think needs a change. Grenades, yes you heard me right grenades. playing through the first hour it felt like I was playing Call of Duty: World at War with how much grenade spam was happening. When you have two or more grenades flying at you through a door while in a small opening/entrance way you’re essentially doomed unless you’re lucky and the grenades bounce in your favor. I’m not sure what needs to be done about them but I believe something definitely does need to happen.

If anyone wants to throw in their opinions or thoughts feel free as this is a first hour review of a person who has played Infinite for the first time.

I agree 100% in regards to grenades, I have always felt one of the worst things about Halo is that you spawn with them. Its really not enjoyable to constantly be bombarded with grenades and honestly I’ve felt this was an issue since the start of the series.

Overshields are hit and miss for me. Someone did a pro-gamer move on me and used the overshield right as I popped his shields giving him enough health to kill me which was a respectable play but I don’t really see much of a benefit in going for them.

I like the BR. I find it to be close to the Halo 3 one myself.

Grav hammer is a bit of a joke IMO. I really don’t like it. The long wind up and the sheer range, I guess they’re trying to differentiate it from the sword more.
