I’ve followed halo religiously since a child. It’s actually my favorite game, and one of the only games i play. My first experience with halo was way back on the og xbox with combat evolved. Halo has come a long way, but recently has begun down a path that i dont want to follow. I wasn’t worried when halo was sold by bungie to 343, i was excited. There’s alot of things 343 did better than bungie. A new refreshing halo was to be expected. I love halo, so i have nothing but open arms for it. However, recently I’ve grown tired of it. Now 19, I’m able to afford my own console. Still not wealthy enough for a brand new one, i bought a used 500 gb xbox one for my new halo 5 game.
I was so disappointed. Matchmaking is horrible. 8 out of 10 matches are laggy. Initial spawns and gun balancing is sooo broken. How does a 3 shot burst weapon get outperformed by a single fire handgun?
Ranking system is severely broken as well.
I once played 4 matches in a row, won all of them, lost one and got demoted.
I’ve seen people jump from diamond to champion in fewer games. How do i know they jumped up like that? Well, I’ll tell you. In halo 5, you’re likely to play with/against the same 5 people for about an hour or so before you get a new match up. Not to mention the supposed " focused, expanded, and balanced" search modes which are really just the option between playing with the same people, playing with people with bad connection, or at worst, both. Not only that, but often times you’ll get lobbied with players that don’t even have a rank, or aren’t even in your rank at all. (low player count maybe??? Bad servers maybe???) I’m not expecting a perfect game, none of the halo games were perfect upon release, especially the multiplayer aspects(looking at halo 2.) It’s even become a part of halo culture.(bxr, superjump, etc) but halo 5 reaaally just seems broken, and didn’t this game come out nearly 2 years ago, if not longer ?
& what about the ban system ? It’s useless. I’ve played against people who have lobbied up with over seas people JUST for the lag. Sounds like I’m just whining but when shots don’t register and melee damage is delayed, and players are teleporting due to lag, Isn’t that a form of cheating? If that isnt bad enough, it seems to be common in matchmaking. I’ve spoke with other players who have agreed with me, and it seems like the lag issues get worse and worse the higher you go in rank. AND I PLAY WITH DIRECT CONNECTION.
Anyways, I’ve been banned from all ranked and social modes due to this poor banning system. The reason( i assume) is leaving too many matches. Either because i would get lobbied with same poor partner 5 games in a row, or because I knew my opponents were taking advantage of their poor connection, (OR BOTH) so i left. Whatever, i got banned. Good, i doubt I’ll play halo 5 for a while anyways. It’s not like halo 5 is a stale project; 343 continuously updates the game with different game modes and various req packs, holds championship tournaments on it (AND IT’S THE MOST RECENT HALO GAME ASIDE FROM HW2) so why are these things still the way they are ?
Yet, I’m still waiting for halo infinite, or halo6 .
I’m so close to giving up on halo, and I’m sure maaaany others feel the same.
If halo infinite is anywhere near as bad as halo 5, I’m done with the halo franchise. 343, your consumers have even filed complaints against the company to the Better Business Bureau. Really ?
I’ve only scratched the surface with what I’ve left here, im sure others have more to say .I want to know if I’m the only person who feels this way, i even made an account to post on this forum since it seems my complaints will go no where else. So what do you think? How do you feel about it?
