Overall the gameplay is fun and refreshing but, there are a couple huge issues with Halo Infinite’s multiplayer:
-
Challenges ruin game play by forcing players to do tasks instead of playing the game to win the round.
Many challenges are frustrating/tedious to complete when playing matches so instead of people focusing on winning the match with the team they are solo trying to complete some trivial objective that might harm the team more than help such as getting kills with an un-optimized weapon and dying in the process.
This goes onto the second point -
Many weapons feel extremely lack luster when compared to the assault rifle and pistol, it begs the question of why ever switch out except for power weapons and utility. Some balancing feels necessary
-
As many have stated the progress for the battle pass is unbearable, it can take several matches to complete one challenge just to level you up a fraction on the battle pass. Maybe by offering all or more challenges at once similar to Fortnite may fix this problem as it has worked very well for them so players could have more time to complete these challenges naturally.

Playing Halo for over a decade now, it is very depressing to see the state of customization. A series that once held the pinnacle of customization with armor base and accent colors along with better emblem customization has collapsed into a sorry state of micro-transactions. The free base colors are lack luster leaving me to desire to buy the MLG black and gold armor set for $9 which is ridiculous. I understand it is a free multiplayer game but there are better ways than this. Not saying micro-transactions don’t have there place in Halo Infinite, there could be well designed armor themes and cosmetics. Overall the system the could be utilized better and not leave the players feeling betrayed by a cherished series such as allowing some more base customization and unlocks through achievements like in Halo 3.
