Gender: It's largely irrelevant.

Let’s talk a little about this. There’s a lot of confusion going around about whether or not women are in infinite. Given voice change options are currently, weirdly disabled but are a confirmed separate option, okay fair!

But let’s walk through this.

You have Body type 0, 1 and 2. 0 is your default guy. 1 is your default feminine body. 2, is something more “inbetween” but not really either.

Here’s the rub: You decide what gender your Spartan is. If you pick the highest pitch voice clearly voiced by a chick and body type 1, but still aren’t sure whether or not your character’s a woman solely because you can’t throw the “Female” tag on to “confirm” it, there’s not a lot that can be done for you.

Your Spartan’s gender and expression is up to you to decide. Nobody else. Nobody is going to determine you or your character’s expression for you. That power, that concept, that ability, is yours. There is power in that. Gender as a construct is, well, just that. A construct. If you want to break that mold for fun and giggles or as genuinely serious expression, you go right ahead.

But nobody’s erasing men or women. They’re just letting you decide who and what you are and how you express that via your character’s body and voice.

That’s freedom.

No, they definitely did away with gender. Athletic men and women have been deemed offensive and excluded from the game. Body types 0, 1, and 2 equal skinny dad bod, sedentary dad bod, and thicc dad bod, not male and female.

I have worked alongside the #1 women’s rugby team in the country, a D1 women’s tennis team, multiple D1 track and field teams, women powerlifters, and female Army Rangers. All of them have distinctly female bodies. This should be apparent in the Spartan undersuits, like a compression top or bottom. It’s not, and that is wrong.

Nobody’s been deemed offensive.

My daughters care that they can’t represent themselves in Halo.

They have the choice to pick a close enough body type and voice type.

Then why can’t people who identify as neither male nor female pick a “close enough” option?

It’s amazing how you can find any excuse to criticize Halo Infinite. If the biggest complaint you have is that now there is no “male body” “female body” is that 343 is really doing very well.

Hazte una paja y callate

Dude its not that deep lol

343 needs to be more inclusive of all the genders in this game. I have a few friends who feel left out by the options we currently have. It’s 2021, please get this right.

Honestly yeah.

Though I have a lot of FUNCTIONAL complaints - body/voice is NOT one of them! They did great here!

Uh, they can. I did not say they can’t, lol. It’s freeform now.

I’ll agree that we could use a little more.

I guess choose body type 0 then.

I really couldn’t care less about the gender customization. Most of the players who do care are males who want to play as females for some odd reason. Maybe because they think the hit box is smaller or for other bizzare reasons.

I’m not sure that’s accurate. As for “some odd reason”, some people just like being perceived a different way. Nothin’ wrong with that.

The community has shown they’re not ready for a constructive discussion on this topic.
