Gen-III MJOLNIR hopefully fixes the Gen-II designs

Anubis Gen-III looks amazing.
Here’s hoping that Goblin, Seeker, Foehammer, Legionnaire, Breaker, Cinder, Athlon, Atlas, Cyclops, Dynast, Fenrir, Freebooter… you get the idea.
Lets hope that the Gen-III redesigns are MUCH better than what we got in the Gen-II models…
And here’s hoping that Rogue, HAZOP, Operator, & Commando Gen-III look more like their Gen-I versions.

I hope they do redesigns of halo 5 armors because there are some that look terrible but have really cool lore. (personally, if they do redesign Athlon I hope its still very close to it’s gen-2 appearance as it is already a very good design and definitely one of the best designed armors to come from the gen-2 platform (just the color patterns are terrible))

I’ve been thinking about this. They said they want to bring back every armour in Infinite. Does this mean they’ll bring them back the way they looked in their own games or will redesign them in Infinite’s style?

I would expect everything will be updated to the ‘Infinite’ art style - GEN3 doesn’t make sense except as a way to row back on the ‘new’ art style from H4 and 5

That’s what I’m hoping because if what we’ve seen so far is any indication they could bring back a lot of meh looking armours and make them look decent.

Likewise. I have so much faith and hope in the Infinite Art team

Maybe we can finally live in a world where PIONEER armor looks aesthetically pleasing as oppose to horrifyingly unpleasant.

They even have stated a Lore-Reason for why Gen-III is a somewhat return to the classic art style : Dr. Halsey has final say on the designs. She is now directly involved with MJOLNIR once again.
So yes, ALL armors are coming back, plus new ones, AND they will look perfect.

You provide the Watsonian, I’ll provide the Doylist

Mk 5, ODST, and Prefect are the armors I really hope we see that we haven’t already.

I agree with the last sentence of OP the most.
Never liked the Gen-II Commando helmet because it looks like a Megazord or Transformer head compared to Carter’s helmet in Reach which really had a commander vibe to it.
Same with Gen-II Operator helmet, I really liked the Gen-I designed with the big visor and the B5D-O/Optics suite mounted on top of it. 343i redesign look more like a fighter pilot helmet than an operator.
The Rogue helmet is the one I wear in Halo 3 and I liked it when it wasn’t another EVA rip-off. In Halo 3 it looks like the fusion of EOD and Scout, well IMO.
As for Hazop, didn’t like the mouth part in Reach and I found the 343i design kinda cool so I don’t really care about it.

But yeah, as 343i once said every armor from before will return, I’m expecting the 343i armors to be designed to fit Infinite aesthetic like the Anubis helmet. (Which looked really cool in Halo 5 and look just as good in Infinite)

I honestly wonder if they can pull it off with some armor sets.
Breaker, for example, had a visor that for some reason wrapped over the top of the helmet and a small mini visor on the back of the helmet. Just…WHY? What function does any of that serve if not to make the helmet less structurally sound?
Cyclops and Stalker helmets are squished and can barley fit a human head in them properly.

Here’s hoping friends.

I’m assuming you’re referring to the armours shown in the December 2020 Inside Infinite, right? I absolutely agree, the armours look amazing!
I was so happy to see that Reach style design!
But, uh, which one is Anubis? I can only remember the look of the helmet in Halo 5, and I didn’t see anything resembling it in the article.

Gosh, I really did not like Halo 4 and 5’s Commando armour, particularly the helmet. I actually think Rogue isn’t that bad, but that’s because I never made the connection to Halo 3’s Rogue helmet. I can’t believe that not once did I think Halo 4’s Rogue was supposed to be the Gen-II version of the Halo 3 Rogue…either it is because they look nothing alike, or Halo 3’s Rogue is very obscure. Speaking of which, I still need to unlock that one in the original Halo 3.

Ooh, one more thing…I think Seeker should be left as is, just to remind people just how ridiculous Halo 5’s armour designs were (I’m evil, I know). Hahaha!

Anubis helmet is this one.
If I remember correctly, it was said on a mega block figure of that armor or an armor with the same helmet that it was the Anubis helmet.

Halo Infinite Anubis Armor.

There is also Infinite’s rendition of Jorge’s Armor, AKA : IndomitableAnd we have also been shown a couple other armor sets, including one from Halo Online that has been given a Gen-III makeover : Trailblazer

EDIT :
A link to Halopedia’s page showing off a couple armor sets. Trailblazer is the far right one (According to Mega Construx) and the second from the right I would guess would be called Breacher or CQC or something.

Thank you both for the clarification!
Yes, I had a feeling it was that one. Even though I said I didn’t see any resemblance, looking at it now I can see the similarities in the helmet specifically, although it’s not quite as…angular[?] or pointy-ish as it was in Halo 5. I wonder about the rest of the set, though.

I’ve seen the Jorge armour set and I love it! They even have a coating to go with it, which makes it look even better. I hope the backpack is included too!

You mean the one listed as “unknown” on Halopedia? That’s a set from Halo Online? The image featuring it is actually my favourite out of the ones shown in that Inside Infinite article! Those armour colour(s) and the green visor on this particular set just go so**well together!

I have not really seen anyone talking about it, but there is one more potentially identifiable armour (or rather, helmet) that has been in front of us the whole time. It’s the one worn by the Spartan who appears in the background of all the “work in progress in-engine render” images of some of the game’s weapons. Which one do you think it is?

Edit: the work in progress in-engine render.

That’s the default armor aka the Mark VII GEN III but with a nice White and Orange coatings.

I don’t think that is trailblazer. it looks more like a gen-3 recruit.
this is trailblazer.

Those armors take away from the “super soldier” look that spartans have.

Just found this fan-art. Now, wouldn’t this make for an interesting armor set to unlock for Halo Infinity? Probably call it Prototype Gen-III?
