Because halo and gears of war are both owned by microsoft wouldnt it be kinda fun for them to mess with each other, so you would go and see a computer and check on know planets, scrolling along you can see sera and because of the swarm and the hurricane esc weather the unsc cant land a ship on the planet and communicate with them, or they go into the city and see a promotional poster for gears of war : the last crusade ect
No. Maybe subtle in game references and/or easter eggs. But no combinations of the two. Do you really think the already extremely happy and increasingly stable Halo community would like that. I really do not think so.

Maybe have a non-canon mash-up game whether it is fps, third persons or RTS. I think RTS would work best if Microsoft wanted to mash the games up.
