Are they considered canon?
I guess so. I would like 343 to comment on them, so we know what happened to them. In my head, I regard them as the dead Spartans we see in Lone Wolf.

Yeah, that’s what alot of people speculated as well. I think it’s possible, in Halsey’s journal, she mentions more and more Spartan IIIs being conscripted into special units and given MJOLNIR armor.

When did she say this? She had no knowledge of the existence of Spartan III until she met Noble Team, and even then she didn’t know what to make of them.
Are you referring to her commenting on some of the Spartan II “wash-outs” being redeployed?

My mistake, Spartan-IIs being conscripted into “highly classified non-Spartan II detachments”. This was her entry on May 15, 2552. But of course they’re doing it with Spartan-IIIs as well, and she found this out shortly after.
