I think these things just come in waves, it might be a bit of confirmation bias playing into itself when we get frustrated as well. I also play at odd hours because of my graveyard shift so i’m not sure if that plays into it at all either.

> Confirmation bias? I guess everyone that I know and have been talking to lately have this “confirmation bias” that just magically started when this season began, right?

> This poor connection happens a large majority of games and all of my competitive friends and even streamers have been talking about it recently. Not really sure what you’ve been experiencing or what rock you’ve been living under, but many players are voicing the same issue as of late.
I had no intention of invalidating your experience, and I am sorry if it came across as such as I was only offering what has personally been true for me in the past when I have become frustrated, and what can be true for a sociological point of view (groupthink and confirmation bias can certainly play into each other, but if you are certain of your experiences you don’t need me to tell you to consider any of that, I was only spitballing here.). I don’t play competitively or follow competitive discords so yea If I am out of the loop; I am out of the loop.
All I can contribute is my own experience: I have personally not been having problems with the server this week, last week it was worse for me and the issues seems to come in waves for me. weeks/days with no problem and weeks/days filled with them. I also was on hiatus for the past 6 months so I cant properly compare before/after the season either, I don’t ever remember H5 servers being perfect but they haven’t seemed that much worse, to me personally, since I have returned.

> The whole “we’re not supporting this title anymore” simply infuriates me as a player. Aside from the Halo Wars series (I don’t play them so I don’t know their respective release dates), Halo 5 is the newest title in the franchise. MCC is nothing more than updated versions of games in the franchise that are up to 20 years old. The only thing they’re doing is giving us name plates, armors and other customization. These are all things they could have done all of that in Halo 5, and fixed all of the other problems that everyone knows about, but can’t be bothered to fix. It’s especially frustrating because they know there’s going to be a push to get to 152 now that they’ve announced a reward, and brought Master Chief to fortnite…

> That’s why I whole heartedly agree with some of my comrades here, if you’re pushing for 152 and/or comms and achievements, I’d try to finish it sooner rather than later. I’d also find a company that still plays Halo 5 on a regular basis (hint hint check mine out).
343 abandoning H5 after just 2 short years also disappoints me and Halo 5 was already my least favorite halo. It still had a dedicated fanbase that didn’t deserve to be forgotten and just because they aren’t going to be making hand over fist in cash from req packs like they may have expected that is just no good reason to abandon a project you released to your community. So many improvements that could still be made and the game could be better than it is still with very minor tweaks here and there.
I think that Influx from other gaming communities is a fair theory, it would also line up with why my servers are better considering that I play between 12-8am PST as I work overnight shifts so my schedule is reversed from nearly all the american highschoolers who play Fortnite, although the technical answer is unlikely to be as simple as we would like to be honest.
