GARBAGE RANKING SYSTEM

I do appreciate the change to a more League of Legends-esque system, but this one simply doesn’t work. I’ve played with countless players who are Platinum and are abysmal at the game. I’m diamond 2 in Team Arena and I keep getting matched with players who are either currently being placed (which just shouldn’t be happening) or players who go 0-16, on average, every game (granted, a lot of those players are un-ranked, but AGAIN, they shouldn’t be matched with Diamond players).

I was getting real salty at this one kid on my team. It was obvious he was paying no attention to his radar as he was completely oblivious to the fact that someone was chasing him in full sprint for 10 seconds. He paid no attention to stronghold objectives either… basically all he did was run around the map in full sprint and die, over and over. I thought there’s no way this kid is anything but bronze, right? That’s a fair assumption. To my surprise, I find he is actually Platinum 2… Platinum 2!!! The kid had 30 games played, a 33% win percentage and a negative 2.5 KDA… and he’s Platinum 2. And this is pretty much on point with about 60% of the Platinum players I’ve seen.

If this is standard for Platinum, I can only imagine how unbelievably bad Silver and Bronze must be. I don’t mean to talk down on others, but I feel as though people are being placed WAY higher than there supposed to be. Myself included. If this system on par with the accuracy of League’s system, I’d probably be Gold. I don’t feel as though I play much better than that, but hey I won 4 out of my 10 placements so I guess I’m Diamond.

I’m hoping that this is just a bit of a buffering stage for ranked arena, and that the kinks will work themselves out. But if this was intentional (which seems like a long shot) I have every right to be up in arms about it. I’m really enjoying the game otherwise. The two or three games I got where every one was of equal rank were insanely fun and close games too.

I’ve also seen that the ranks seem to be somewhat non-reflective of a player’s actual skill level. Perhaps it’s just because the system is new and adjusting…

The problem is the placements are far too generous. People are getting into Champion out of placement for Christ sake which should be impossible.

I feel like Diamond 1 should be the absolute highest rank you can get after placements. Meaning even the top players will have to actually grind wins and beat other teams to get into the top ranks. It worked as advertised for me but I didn’t play until 2 days later and I’m grinding to Champion in SWAT and beating Champs and Onyx constantly.

On the bright side, almost all my matches have been close, interesting games instead of the roflstomp that was MCC swat.

Nearly all of the placement matches I played were filled with people who were diamond and platinum which is pretty annoying playing by yourself. I thought if you’re unranked you’re only supposed to play other unranked people?

I had a Diamond 1 player go 2 and 16 in a Slayer match. Also in Swat I won every single one of my placement matches and went positive but got placed in Platinum

Lmao it’s broken, in slayer I won 7 of my placement matches with a 8.0 KDA and got placed in platinum I am constantly Yoinking! on people in that playlist but in Arena I quit 3 of my pacement matches and got diamond. Then in Swat I lost 5 matches and got placed in Onyx lol.

I won just about all my placement games while carrying my team in most and ended up gold.

Sums up my SWAT experience.

I think the complete opposite of you. LoL’s ranking system does a thing very well “being unpredictable as -Yoink- and down right long, boring and repetitive”. The thing i really do not like about halo becoming a “ranked is the -Yoink-” type of game is that if you go 17/3 in swat, chances are that some genius manages to fo 3/10 on your team and succesfully -Yoink- you in the -Yoink-, doing the same to your elo. I think that atm, with luck, any dog can reachto highest level, but that also works in the other way, meaning that an unlucky good player can be stucked in low elo, just like in LoL, which they copied the ranking. So i don’t think that halo should go full ranked in the first place, and that if they want to do it, that the LoL ranking systeme is the last model they should copy.
