Gaps of Info Missing Between Games

So, I’m just curious, if I’m the only one that wished we had more info on games? What I mean, in Halo 5 ending we are witnessed to a scene where cortona is heading to a halo ring. But, in halo infinite, according to the trailers and everything else, a great battle had happened and chief lost his crew. Which is where we start with the trailer.

So my point, I wish Halo games would pick up where they left off. Not 6 months or 1 year after. Because then your left with background info not include. Like, what happened in the 6 months leading up to the new game. This is where lore, short stories, books, etc pick up. Don’t get me wrong, I wouldn’t mind reading, it’s just I have more fun playing the story than reading the story.

Halo: Infinite is supposed to be a soft reboot of the franchise where new and old players can jump on and play without having to worry too much about what had happened previously in other Halo games. I don’t doubt that there will be dialogue or various datapads found throughout the Campaign as collectables explaining what has happened in-between the two games. Having said that, Halo: Shadows of Reach and its upcoming sequel help fill that gap somewhat.

I believe the trailers and the first time of gameplay we got have taken place midway into the campaign. I think that’s what I heard in a video from KevinKoolx or it may’ve been HaloFollower last year. But yeah, I’m not big on having to read books that take place after the game or before to understand what’s all going on. That’s the job of the games prior to the current installment. I’m fine with extra backstory as long as it isn’t needed to understand the rest of the game.

unfortunate we will have to read the books as they come out

Or you could just skim Halopedia or watch a quick YouTube video. Not really a Herculean task.

We will probably know more about what happened to the entire UNSC forces in the upcoming Halo Infinite especially if the game will have audio logs and terminals.

At the same time, because the upcoming Halo Infinite will tell a very big story, I still think that the game will have DLC campaign levels. That’s where we will see characters like Arbiter, Jerome-092, Blue Team, Alpha-Nine and Fireteam Osiris coming back in the Halo Infinite DLC campaign levels. The Halo Infinite DLC campaign levels can also explore more about the Zeta Halo Ring.

I mean, it would spoil the story and defeat part of the purpose of the game if they came out and told you exactly what happened. Just wait until it releases and play it, I’m sure that information will be in there somewhere.
