It seems that in favour of the LGBTQ+ Community, 343 is opting to only have 3 body types:
Male, light armour (Which changes barely anything) and Male.
You’re ignoring your female audience that actually want to look like a female in your game. Having diverse body types is good yes, but do it properly. The flight had terrible diversity in terms of genders. You can make 100 body types if you want, or let us customise the body type we want instead of just giving us 3 set types.
The flight isn’t a complete build of the game - I wouldn’t judge the end product off of that just yet.
Its entirely possible that they have a expanded body type system for launch or coming after.
It’s not that simple though. In a single player rpg, yeah, you can make your body look however you want. But halo multiplayer is a competitive shooter which means hit boxes have to remain the same for every single player. Once you start having Spartans who are significantly taller or shorter, rounder or skinnier, the hit boxes either have to be changed to accommodate the difference body shape or players will have sections of their body that don’t register hits. Neither is a good option for a competitive multiplayer built on every one having an equal chance. That’s why the body type options we’ve seen so far are so limited. They’re trying to give diversity, without breaking the game in the process.
Right, the three females in my family who all play Halo are suddenly excluded. Sad that they prioritized all the other customization options and microtransactions at the expense of half of the general population. This issue was brought up many times during and after the flight. It is quite obvious that the topic was intentionally left out of the flight feedback article.
What’s worse is that a good portion of the fanbase is either in denial or is actually okay with shutting out women. Lame excuses:
Hitboxes: Elites in H3 and females in Reach and H5 had the same hitboxes as their male Spartan counterparts. Not an excuse.
2 x Armor Models: They’d have to make twice the amount of armor sets. Yup, this has also been done at the past. And I don’t think it’s too much to ask for the sake of inclusion.

There will be a female body type in Infinite. There were 3 different body types in the flight, and they were glitched for me at least. If you downloaded the waypoint beta app, you could customize it there and it showed all 3 properly.
There was a more feminine body type in the flight, it just wasn’t labeled “female”
