Well, obviously the original story of The Fall of Reach was changed by the invasion starting before August 30th, those changes I would say were for the better, but did they change it even more? During the Halo Universe Fiction Panel someone asked “how did Chief get to Gamma Station?”. Clearly that is gone over in Halo The Fall of Reach but they respond “that is one we havn’t gotten too into all the way yet”.
If Im not mistaken that is clearly gone over in Halo The Fall of Reach and for the most part seems like it doesn’t contradict Halo Reach. Maybe they were referring to the large distance from Gamma Station and Aszod but for the most part it seems good.
If it isn’t too much to ask can anyone tell me how that went in the book, I havn’t read TFoR in a while and also do not remember where that part is. Please just tell me how he got to Gamma Station in the book, I believe he took a Pelican?
i only have the original copy of the fall of reach so i cannot say anything about the re-release version, but you would be correct 3 spartans enter gamma station by using a modified pelican

I’ll ditto this as being the same in the republished version as well.
The republished Reach is just the old reach with a new cover, word for word its the same.
Certain events in Halo Reach make certain events in TFoR, such as the Gamma Station issue, logically impossible to have occured. I’m not going into it now, I’d look up the canon errors page on the Bungie Universe forums.

NS is going to come in and wreck you like anyone else that says that Halo: Reach and TFoR couldnt happen at the same time. He has a logical timeline made out with all relevant events posted in a couple of threads around the Fiction section.
The only thing that has ever stood out to me in regards to Halo: Reach meeting with the Fall of Reach/First Strike canon is that after Long Night of Solace, you see dozens of covenant ships “warp” into orbit around Reach.
… well, a noteworthy plot point in First Strike is exactly that Covenant could hypothetically do that but never do, because they don’t know that they can do that. The ability to take advantage of the technology that the Covenant use but don’t fully understand was initiated by that observation and became an extensive part of the story.
In fact, I swear there’s a line in the book where Cortana thinks how they could have entirely obliterated everyone on Reach if they knew that they could do that.
