So basically, the XB1 settings for HDMI black level are fine (Read that RGB full doesn’t work properly, so set myself to limited and I’m on a TV). My TV black levels are set to match with that fine.
Halo 3 on the 360 looks perfect on the same TV.
Halo 3 on the XB1 looks far too bright and washed out. Setting my black levels to ‘low’ on my TV fixes it… but makes every other game & menus too dark. And since you can’t set brightness or gamma for Halo 3 individually, do we just have to deal with Halo 3 being washed out now?
Yeah, it looks to me as if they put a wrong setting for 0-255 and 16-235 somewhere, considering forcing it flipped seems to fix it. I hope it’s an easy fix, as long as we bring it to their attention.
How they never noticed it though is a mystery to me.
Noticed the same issues even now after the latest patch. Hopefully it’ll be fixed. Halo 4 has the same thing; when the game starts it is immediatly noticeable because of the greyish background on the scoreboard. Setting RGB to PC levels fixes it but makes other games too dark and crushes lots of blacks.
