Of course, I want 343 to bring back old gametypes. All of the missing ones. KOTH, Oddball, Grifball, Assault, whatever, we know what we’re missing.
But am I the only one concerned that some of them may not play well?
Like King of the Hill. Obviously, H5 plays very differently and has very different maps than other Halos. I really can’t imagine a scenario where KOTH would be remotely fun to play with the short TTKs, bullet magnetism, 'nade spam, and whatnot.
And what about something like Multi Team? I think I’d shoot myself before I tried playing Multi-Team in Halo 5. It would be exactly like 8 man FFA, too hectic and unskillful to play.
Unless they added a classic playlist, I feel like some of these gamemodes would be unplayable. (I don’t think assault would be bad, because it’s very similar to CTF which I think plays kinda well, and Oddball shouldn’t be bad either)

I thought about that, but of course KOTH is focused on a single moving objective, and all the fire power + low TTK on one point might make for a not so enjoyable gamemode. Of course, there’s no way to know this unless 343 ever gets around to putting it in the game.

What makes you think KotH would not work in Halo 5? Halo 4 had somewhat similar movement mechanics and i thought KotH played excellently in that game. Same with oddball.

All H4 and H5’s movement mechanics have in common is sprint. Also, IMO, H4’s maps were much better designed (although imo they still weren’t all that great) than H5’s garbage. It’s really just speculation, because we won’t know for sure until they add it, or IF they add it.
I would like to see a game mode implemented where everyone has invisibility, swords, and shotguns for the entirety of the game. Or the same but with snipers instead. Instant hit.
None of the reasons you provided are really relevant except for “nade spam”, and…well…I’ve seen people moan about “nade spam” in every title, regardless of how grenades are executed. Grenades now aren’t any worse than they’ve ever been. Also, man am I tired of hearing people talk about low-TTK, it’s barely faster than Halo 2 and pretty much on-par with Ce.
When has Multi-Team not been too chaotic and unskillful to play?
I think most would be fine, and as far as multi-team, yeah, on most of the tiny maps it’d probably be too hectic for a ‘legit’ game. But in my opinion multi-team isn’t about being super balanced and fair. It’s about chaos. If they’re going to put multi-team in (and I really really hope they do, probably my most missed playlist) I’d want it at least 4 teams of 3, with hopefully added KOTH and oddball (3 ball!) gametypes. The absolute chaos is what makes multi-team freaking awesome in my eyes.
Those are “issues” we’ll have to deal with once we actually get them?

I’d love Multi-Team back, as long as there are maps that can actually support it.
Had one Multi Team match on Ragnarok once, my team won, but that was because it boiled down to my team of two spawning with another team of two and our match was a regular Team Slayer at one single base. I heard all the chaos going on in the distance, but whenever I and my team mate died, we spawned in the rough same location and engaged the same team who in turn spawned in the rough same location. I think I saw one player from another team in the whole game.
