Of course alot of people want Infection, VIP, Race, Assault and any other gametypes that I can’t quite remember off the top of my head. Would’nt it be something though if people actually got off their high horse and put in ideas for new ones as well? It certainly does seem like alot of work, but with a little bit of inginuity and some actual thought, the players and developers could come to some kind of consensus. Or maybe an understanding of sorts. Anyways, I’m going to put a list down as a mix of both my own, and other players who have my badge of respect. Think of it as another way of tying story with gameplay (Like what 343i is doing now)
- Gametype: Inoculation/Basis: Infection
Renamed from a gametype I may have mentioned on the forums earlier, this gametype revolves around infection, should it ever make a comeback. The game splits teams in half, with one side being the Flood, and the others, human. The objective is almost the same basis as regular infection, however, there is one major difference. Whenever the Flood player kills a human, instead of simply having the other player becoming a flood, the killer takes their place on the human team. This will go back and forth until either the time alloted or the points gained has been achieved.
The story behind this is a situation where UNSC scientists test a new form of vaccine that can prevent the spread of the Flood spores from travelling around in their bodies. Through a fixed point, should they ever have a spore infestation within their bloodstream, they would have a brief window of time to find a new victim to transfer the virus into before the flood takes over completely. While painful, it would give the infected soldier the opportunity to revert their bodies back into their natural state.
- Gametype: Spy/Basis: VIP
Essentially a FFA version of a VIP game, instead of ending the round as soon as the intended person is killed, a new VIP is randomly assigned to any of the players on the board. Nobody but the person who is the VIP will know they are and they are worth 3 extra point, which can be modified to any number you want outside the standard. So maybe that idiot person you hate gloats about being the VIP? Well, he just made enemies with nearly everyone on that map and he will regret openning his mouth.
