Gametype: Gun Game

We all know what Gun Game is; kill with certain weapons to equip the next tier of weapons, until all tiers are completed.

We should all know this from Modern Warfare 3, Black Ops, and Counter Strike.
But, would you want it in Halo?

Meh…

I don’t know…

Why the -Yoink- not?

> Why the -Yoink!- not?

Because people would complain that it’s a rip-off from CoD

Its actually a nice idea.Too bad people would whine about it being in CoD.

I’d rather not rip off cod in every conceivable way, It just doesn’t feel right to directly steal a game mode, especially when it’s not even that great. It’s not really the cod part that bugs me, it’s just the unoriginality.

> Its actually a nice idea.Too bad people would whine about it being in CoD.

That’s the problem see. People would just say “It’s from CoD”

I’d be alright with it but the community…meh…

No

So who wants to be awesome and explain this for me :3

We already have enough “influence” from these “others” games. No need to add any more of that kind of stuff.

The funny part is, Gun Game was originally from Counter-Strike, so CoD is the one who took the gametype.

I don’t see anything wrong with it being implemented in the game, besides, it feels like everyone always think that any gametype in Halo will affect in Matchmaking of some sort, or just something in general…in fact, any addition to the game is an addition, meaning if you don’t want to play the game, then DON’T PLAY IT!

It’s all about the additions, not what’s set in stone.

You start with one weapon get a kill to unlock next weapon, player to first get 1 kill with every weapon wins.

I’ve never played MW3 but i think you start out with crappy guns like a pistol or plasma pistol in halo. Then as you kill more people you go up to assault rifle maybe. Then kill people with that and you go up to br/dmr/carbine then you go to needler/concussion rifle then to shotgun/sword then to rocket launcher/sniper

This^^ big time as well

I would, yeah. Sounds fun.

If gun game is in Halo it has to be more like Gun master from Battlefield 3 because that was so much better.

If a Gun-Game gametype variant does get implemented, I’m sure that players will be able to tweak the game options to see how many kills we will need before switching to the next weapon.

This is what I wish to see for us to modify:

  1. Enable/Disable Teams
  2. Set a score to switch to your next weapon.
  3. Modify weapons in order.
  4. Enable/Disable Demotions
  5. Have some way to demote players.

Something like that.

I would like a sort-of reverse gun game, where everyone starts with rockets, upgrading to weapons that are harder and harder to get kills with, relative to the weapons that other players have. It would go like this:

Rockets- Fuel Rod- Scattershot- Shotgun- Needler- Carbine- DMR- Light Rifle- BR- AR- Storm Rifle- Sticky Detonator- Plasma Pistol- Magnum- Other Secondary- Covy Sniper- Wall-E Sniper- Energy Sword

anyone could do that, as long as they have the ability to change which weapon they wish to have on that weapon tier.

CoD ripped it from a CS mod which probably ripped it from some other game.

That’s pretty much how the gaming industry works nowadays. Very few things are original.
