My brother and I were playing the other day after putting his profile on my console. He had equipped all of the pre-order and collectors edition armor I had downloaded, since for some reason, his character was no longer decked out in FOTUS (I gave him the code from the LE Console)
When we put his profile back on his console, he still had all of the preorder and limited edition armor and emblems despite having not downloaded them himself, only having had put them on whilst on my xbox.
He got the idea that maybe it would work for FOTUS the same way, since I was kinda put off the armor looked so cool after all and I’d given it up. We put my profile on his console and lo and behold, I could equip it! (Naturally)
Leaving the armor and emblem and weapon skin equipped, I transfered back to my console, but the switch seems to have only gone one way. He got all of the unlocks I paid good money for, whilst I’m out FOTUS!
Any clues why he would get the armor I imput the download codes for on my profile/console, but not the other way around?
Be careful when switching armour I noticed this glitch before, if you switch out of someone else’s armour u might lose it. I have to accounts and encountered this. I’m betting your friend will lose his stuff he got from your console at some point just like my alt.
But your wording confused me a bit, I thought u had given him the code which would mean he has the legit fotus but covy seems to have interpreted the opposite.
Either way you can always redownload your armour if you ever have issues. I forget exactly where on the MS site it is, but you just need to log in, find the download history page, and from there add items to your consoles download queue. You can already be logged in or not when you choose to queue a download from your PC.

This sounds like a glitch - it should only be available to his profile when it’s on your x-box. I would just consider this a nice bonus for him. He should enjoy it whilst it lasts as I wouldn’t be surprised if he finds they disappear sometime.

This is working exactly as it should. You should only be able to get Fotus on his x-box. You are correctly losing it when returning to yours. So to sum up, he’s got lucky due to some sort of glitch/bug by the sound of it.
Yeah, that’s the conclusion we’ve come to as well. I was curious if anyone had encountered something similar so, I’m ashamed to say, take advantage of the glitch to it’s fullest. Not that I regret giving him the armor, he rarely gets the goody-goody stuff like that, but damn it’s a slick looking piece of gear!
Out of curiosity, would playing online have anything to do with it? I realized earlier that when the initial glitch happened, granting him my unlocks, we had played Spartan Ops all day, but when we tried to duplicate the glitch to grant me his FOTUS unlock, we didnt do any playing whatsoever.
I feel for you. Obviously. The camo skin is nice, and it works far better than you might expect it to! The only thing I didnt like about it was the Hazop helmet it’s skinned to looks like a sad clown, in my opinion. XD
You know what, now that you mention it, I think you’re right. I hooked my xbox (now his) up on the bigscreen and downloaded the junk right away then moved it all onto the LE Console the following day. Now that makes sense.
Oh well, I am starting to think this is all Karma for hogging all the goody-goody stuff all those years ago when we were kids. If I can find a way to copy his FOTUS in the same way he copied all my junk, awesome and if not, it’s just pixels. He’s elated, of course, and I think it’s pretty cool he’s got all this stuff, since he had expressed a little disappointment he hadnt gotten them in the first place.
It’s all normal, exclusive armors are on the console, not the game. This means a profile gets all the armor that have been downloaded on the console, not what you actually redeemed
2 words buddy: File Transfer. How do you think ive managed to get almost all the preorder and LE armors and skins? All I need now is Pulse and Web and my friend that has web is scared he thinks he’ll lose his account but its 100% safe dude ive done it more than 10 times in the past month lol well with different accounts anyways an account can be transferred and licensed (difference from just transferred or downloading) on one console other than your own, every 4 months. So about 3 times a year
Thanks for all the feedback, everyone. We got together at my house again, transfered HIS profile to MY xbox for some spartan ops fun and went into his download history and re-downloaded his junk on my console. I’m elated cause I didnt ‘lose’ the armor I gave him, he’s ecstatic that he gets to use his favorite set online, and all is right with the world!!!
@Tauntaun 22: I was under the impression if you transferred same-name files from one hard disk to another, it would replace it rather than merge it? At least, thats the impression it gives when you try to do it.
nono it copies it to the other hard drive, AND allows the one that got the copy to be able to work. If you download something from someones account without file transfer, you cant use it on your profile on your console, even though its in your hard drive. File transfer will allow you to save data and access it on any account on the console with the new copy installed. The original data will still be on the original console and account. Trust me I gave a friend all my pre order and fotus armor from this. All I need now is the amazon web skin and the gungnir pulse skin im willing to do file transfer with anyone for all Limited Edition, gamestop, bestbuy, wallmart, and Halo 4 Console (fotus) armors, skins, weapon skins, and emblems for those 2. Oh and I also need the Spartan emblem I think (the one with amazon)
