With Gamescom just a week away, I was wondering if anyone has heard any Halo related news to it?
I’m definitely not expecting gameplay, because I don’t think they would reveal it at a lesser event only 2 months after E3, but just receiving more information on ANYTHING would be amazing. Gamescom is still a pretty significant event, and it would be a missed opportunity to generate more hype.
Gameplay could still be possible. If 343 want to flight Halo Infinite really early like they did with the Halo 5 beta, then we have to be getting some form of gameplay THIS year.
I really hope something is shown or talked about. They really need to keep this hype they got rolling.
What are your guys’ Halo predictions for Gamescom?
There’s nothing for Infinite.
The E3 MCC demo will be playable at Gamescom. That’s it. That’s the show for us.
343i said their next big goal for news will be E3 2020 so I doubt we’re going to get gameplay until then. I could see them giving us a little nugget at Gamescom though.

And a exclusive Halo Reach mousepad! It’s even bigger than the one that was sold in the Official Xbox Gear Store.

There’s no way they are going to wait til E3 2020 to show the first gameplay.
Maybe for campaign, but they HAVE to show footage this year if they want to do early flighting right? How else are they going to get feedback, they have to reveal the gameplay at some point. If they want meaningful feedback, the beta should be around holiday THIS year, just like the Halo 5 beta was a good 9-10 months before launch.

That’s a good point, I hope you’re right.

Why would they need to reveal gameplay publicly, in order to conduct what amounts to a closed beta? Lots of games do closed betas, with conditions not to put out any footage.
Your assumption that flighting must start this year for meaningful feedback, is also arbitrary. We don’t know the exact specifics of what they will be seeking feedback on, or how laborious those things will be to change in response to feedback. Personally, I DON’T expect flighting in 2019. I expect it around spring 2020, starting in tiny, tightly controlled flights to ensure there are no leaks.
I expect public gameplay no earlier than E3 2020.
If 343i does early flighting we MIGHT get a little gameplay or beta dat . It could be late this year to spring 2020. If the slipspace engine is as easy to work with as they claim tho they might be able to keep working and show us more in the beta and make modifications fairly quick.
I hope there is a beta in spring next year. But it might be an E3 beta kinda thing . Show everything off and then the day of the e3 a beta will release. It would be a very special day for halo
