Games These Days

I have to feel for 343i, it really does suck when your product doesn’t have a smooth launch, but I think the turth of it is a lot of Next-Gen games launches have been pretty bumpy. Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare had players complaining that they couldn’t get access to unlockables online. Destiny and The Elder Scrolls Online have had lots of server issues for the about the first week after their launches. I believe that AC: Unity has been having frame rate issues. Probably one of the games with the most long term issues has been Battlefield 4, with most of the major issues being dealt with only recently.

Popularity of those games aside, I think the point I’m trying to get across is that no game is perfect in terms of performance and server capability. Even after launch, there will always be minor, and sometimes major issues that the developers work very hard to address.

I think 343i gets a lot of heat for not being the original developers of Halo, and may get fingers pointed at when things don’t turn out in the favor of us fans. I have been around Halo since Halo: CE, and I have not crossed any Halo game I majorly disliked, and I own all of them, but of course that can vary between all of us.

I think us as fans owe it to give 343i the time they need to address these issues head on. Whether they should’ve waited until the game is bug “free” is indeed debatable, but I am happy the major wait is over and I can dive into Campaign, Forge, and Custom Games. I know Matchmaking is a grand part of the Halo Series, but I hope that the fans can hold out and give 343i the benefit of the doubt.

343i, thank you so much for working so hard and addressing these issues right away. I hope that when the problems are sorted out you guys get the relaxations you deserve and hop on the servers of your awesome Collection. Cheers!

In other news, I’m glad the patches are starting to role out and we are being updated consistently. Keep up th hard work 343!

I remember when I bought Halo 3 on day 1. Popped it in and played all night, went to bed and played some more. I guess those days of gaming are finished.
